Bradleys shots maybe not one shot Kayo Power but there is enough on them to make fighters respect him. you take the Nate Campbell fight, and the Alexander fight with thought those early TDs, likely those two would have been stoppage wins, I know for sure he would have stopped Nate, and honestly he did stop Alexander. Note that in the Alexander fight, when the heads collided that last time, Devon was complaining and said the pain was on the other eye that wasnt even hit the boy quit in my eyes.
Oh someone didn't pay attention in their boxing class. How the hell does confidence going to win a fight? Once Pac whips his face that confidence will be a look of despair! I think he will get pummeled if he stays on the ropes like COTTO.
Guys that try to trade with pac end up on the losing end, getting off the canvas like what just happened "cotto". I don't think Bradley will try to brawl with pac, trying to out box him may not be enough to get a decision. He's going to have to out work, out box and ruff PAC up to even consider a win. I like Bradley but I don't think he can do all these things to PAC, he's going to have to wow people or get a ko to win.
Confidence does win fights, you dont want a fighter going in there thinking he is going to lose, you have to have confidence 90% of this sport is mental
I don't think he will be able to resist, and when he does he will get caught, and most likely ko'd. This is not Marquez we are talking about, he is not going to counter him all night.
You know what your right, Then again, we have seen fighters dig down and fight the perfect fight, Tyson vs Douglas, Tyson vs Holyfield, Hopkins vs Tarver I know Timmy is not of their status, but there is always a first.
I was hoping for a more analytical conversation, but I can appreciate tito44 and Bazooka for taking it that direction. Yes, I think Bradley being new to the big fights and prone to slugging are his major downfalls. However he seems like a gamer to me. The bigger the challenge the more focused he becomes. Pacquiao just looks really off mentally this time around. I do think Bradley is a very good technical fighter and physically strong. Everything PM mentioned I thin Bradley can do and will do to win the fight.
I wont argue that Manny is mentally off, we hear that time and time again but I believe that as time goes by you learn about these seemingly un beatable guys, you tend to over the course of a several fights see and learn more about them as we should. What we have learned and alot of it we learned from marquez and morales that Manny simply doesnt fight well going back, Manny is not a patient fighter, he falls for every feint, Richardson showed Mosley how to turn Manny to avoid the in coming onslaught. But notice that when Marquez in the last fight is moving away from Mannys shots if he is turning to the left Manny almost falls forward as he is coming in with shots. I honestly think that its not just the timing of the fight, but that we have seen enough of Pacquiao to learn what will work and what will not. What does Bradley have that others dont? Okay well he has the height, and what I mean about that is unlike Mosley and Margarito and Clottey, Bradley is short, so when Bradley misses a shot he can draw that hand right back to the holster and roll out safely a taller fighter like Mosley or Margarito if they miss as they punch down they leave a huge gap for Manny to exploit with combination shots this is why he is so effective over taller fighters they have to find him and he dont have to work to find them. This is also why Marquez was able to have such success in all three fights, if he misses a shot he can roll out and be in a much safer position than the taller guys. Youth is also a factor, and lets not forget this is Bradleys first real payday, Hunger is a hidden factor but if I were Tim I wouldnt come in trying to prove that I am hungry, I would rather him prove to be patient and play off of Mannys Flaws. Body work will be the key early on, he has to find a way to slow down Pac, and I think this is where it can be dangerous, he must be prepared for the left uppercut or even that long left hook that Manny turned over on Hatton. Those two shots he must really be prepared for as those are the only two I see being a big problem. Keeping his head low is also key, and when he slides inside he needs to burry his forehead in the chest of Pacquiao, this is where buts and cuts can happen doesnt mean its a dirty tactic it just means he will be safer having his head burried into mannys shoulder on the inside this will limit the amount of uppercuts that he gets hit with. Walk Manny into shots, we know that if you hit Manny he wants to get you back right away, so when Tim makes contact, walk around the block and set up a trap. if done right Manny will be on his period in no time and visibly frustrated and thats when you just keep taking round after round. Dont go for the knock out and do not follow Manny. I just think that the last several years we have seen what Manny is good at and what he is not good at. and being that Bradley has a trainer who comes from a long line of boxing with in the Diaz family they studied him and it will show Saturday.
He's never shown the type of movement and punch arsenal necessary to throw Pacquiao's alignment off. Manny's feints will be too much to gauge for the relatively less experienced Bradley, and he will be left vulnerable to Manny's best punches. Bradley has a shot if he fights a perfect fight circling both ways and switching between boxing on the outside and digging own on the inside, but Manny's seen both of those elements before from better fighters and handled himself quite well. Good post! I still favor Manny, but your points about Bradley's height and how he can use it to exploit Manny's weaknesses are spot on. I just think Saturday will show us that Pacquiao-Marquez 3 was more about JMM being able to do things right than it was about Manny doing things wrong, and Tim will come up short.
I am sorry but when a fighter like Solis who is corkey as all **** if he can find a way to last rounds and get in some decent work, I am confident Bradley will be okay. And Manny has feints? Where do you see this? Not to discredit you, But I just dont see him using head feints at all he is just an explosive little guy
Solis is an underrated fighter IMO, and had more range and defensive footwork than I've seen Bradley use. Not by much, and Bradley is probably a better fighter all around, but his style didn't mesh with Manny's. You haven't seen Manny feint? He's one of the best feinters in the game right now, and it's essential to complimenting his speed and punch arsenal. Marquez himself commented on this. You can't tell whether he's going to circle right or left, or whether he's going to go to the head or body, because of the way he dips his body or shuffles his feet or fakes his lead hand. As good as Marquez is, there's a reason he fell 3 times in the first round against Manny.
