This is now the new main event for UFC on Fox, since Stann is out against Lombard.

Terrible match, really. I really don't see any way that Vera takes this one.

If Vera wins this, will it be worse for scurla than the time Shogun got beaten up and choked out by Forrest Griffin? :think:yep

LOL @ this bull****. Vera got lit up by Eliot ****ing Marshall in his last fight. I thought that his camp was holding out for a big name opponent?

I like this fight, but not for a main event. Shogun is coming of a tough loss to Dan Henderson, and I think he needs a less challenging fight at this stage of his career. Even if you think he deserved a draw against Dan, Rua took a lot of punishment in that fight.

I like how the UFC forces competitive fights on its roster, and I don't want to see them go the way of boxing and start letting these guys have numerous gimmies between important bouts. I just think that veteran warriors deserve decent pay days against lower risk opponents every once and a while.

Maybe they threw in Vera there to see how much damage he really took in the Hendo fight

Good fight but kind of a **** main event. Every Fox main event has been a title fight or a number 1 contenders fight. Vera hasnt really dominated a fight in like 3 years and Shogun has lost 2 out of his last 3. Shogun has the advantage is every area but I wouldnt count Vera out so fast he is a very good technical striker and this fight will likely be on its feet the majority of the time.

To think the potential Vera had to what people think of him now, all his own fault tho! Doesn't seem to be able to dig deep like real warriors can! But his technical ability is pretty good!

In order to stay alive in this fight Vera will have to go to his Roman Greco roots , he has no other way of winning this fight , he's an accomplished grappler but so is Shogun , his stand up technically is sound but he doesn't like being hit and Shogun will hit him :deal specifically with his boxing , which is Vera's weak point

Vera should take heart from the fact Shogun's cardio is questionable these days and put on a pace which Shogun may find uncomfortable , but Vera himself has never been able to fight at a quick pace without going into reservation mode

It isn't the best fight is it ?? , and i expect Shogun to get to him and hurt him and maybe knock him out , or pick him apart on the feet as and how he chooses

    Shogun UD
