How were tarver and wlodarczyk not "real opponents" though? Siaca and briggs were a joke i agree, but jones and flores were also good opponents.
He did just fight for a world title though. He is a tuneup fight, just to guage where he is at. Im a green fan though so i may be looking on it more favourably

Technically you could be right.... with the aid of medicines, general nutritian and lifestyles, the human species lives far longer than they once did 100yrs ago meaning the age bracket of optimum performances has probably risen as a result. Sportsman of 50yrs ago would almost certainly retire before their 25th or 26th birthday :think. I'm guessing those same sportsman would have another 5 or 6yrs at the top level living in todays society. In saying all that, i'm not talking into consideration social issues of yesterday where sports didn't pay well enough and people had to retire to work to pay the bills or to fight in wars etc..... also amatuer sports should not be considered again due to money constraints.
Not hating nothing mate. Boxing is about money. Dog eat dog. Plenty of fighters get done by sharks. So those who have the balls to self promote, run their own show and call the shots are the ones who finish the sport with something. Mundine made some so so choices from 08-11 but Green has done very well. Guys like Green and Mundine could have taken shots like Geale is, but they didnt bcus they would be fighting under another promoter, and nowadays they don't do that.
