For the past page I admitted I was overzealous for this winter. . . mid 2013 is perfectly ideal. . .

Gamboa returns at 135 like he planned around september. . . has another fight around february/march . . . bang, Pac/Gamboa for a sizzling hot summer showdown. . . or early fall. . .

Very reasonable. . . However, I don't know if Pac will even fight beyond 2012 if he can't get Floyd. . But I DEFINITELY see Gamboa as being his "farewell" fight if he fights into 2013. . . This is a hardcore boxing fan's DREAM match. .

Two guys the same size, both aggressive, and both are extremely explosively fsat, and powerful. . .

Oh what a stupid idea! Two guys the SAME DAMN SIZE, both freakishly fast, and powerful matched up against each other!

    What a stupid ass idea!

Since Marquez left 135 and Rios "lost" his last fight, theres kind of been a void left behind at LW. Unless he beat someone elite there (which there is nobody) or Pacquiao has significantly declined by that time, I don't see any feasibility in this matchup

Isn't this what people said about Oscar/pacquiao? :huh And then Hatton/Pacquiao? Cotto/Pacquiao? Well, Gamboa is the EXACT SAME SPECIMEN AS PAC! Freakish. . .

Pac only needed one layover fight at 135. . . Gamboa having two will be more than enough. . .

Hahaha everybody trying to sound "in the know", and not wanting to recognize how crucial this matchup would be. . .

Except Gamboa is nowhere near P4P#1 and Pac is in the top 2.

Back then Pac was #1 and Oscar was nowhere.

Gamboa is also a "big" FW when it comes to muscularity unlike Pac at that weight who was big in dimensions

Gamboa is pretty close to being in the top ten pound for pound. . . And like I said, after two fights, he could easily be top 5-7 pound for pound. . .

He would have been if he ended up fighting Rios. . . His stock would have skyrocketed overnight like Pacquiao's did. . .

This is a misconception about pac's size. . . He never really gained that much mass as he moved up in weight. . He put on about 3-5 pounds of actual lean muscle mass. . . He was just cutting a lot of weight before he got up to around 135. . . Gamboa's build is similar to Pacquiao's, except he carries a little more mass in his upper body, whereas Pac carries it in his lower body. . .

right now, they are walking around very close to each other. . .

But as I have been saying, lets see how Gamboa handles 135. . . This was just a hypothetical matchup for next year which I think is very feasible, and very, very good matchup should Gamboa prove his mettle at 135 (which is where Pac should be fighting if he cut weight like most boxers do). . . Even if they are, say 5-8 pounds away from each other on fight night, I see no problem with this, as this is about the median range of weight differential between guys who have consistently fought in the same weight class for years.

As long as Gamboa's chin doesn't get cracked at 135!

This is a great fight to ponder. . .

    In a perfect world...

my only concern is how khan would deal with the weight. If he deals with the weight well and carries his power and speed up with him, what honest fight fan wouldnt want to see that fight?

wtf?? gamboa vs pac hahaha:patsch:patsch dude they're nowhere near the same size....pac is now a full fledged welter and you're kidding yourself if you think otherwise... if he wasn't the marquez fight would have been at 140 or wait would you admit that perhaps they were putting marquez at a disadvantage on purpose by having the fight at ww when pac could have easily made 140 if he's not a true ww?
