Mike Tyson the most underrated defense in history (video)

I don't know how underrated his defense is. Most people who know boxing know that before he started losing his mind Tyson was one of the best defensive heavyweights of all time, maybe the very best defensive heavyweight ever.

 

Mike Tyson gets very little credit for how complete he was. Everyone likes to repeat cliches about how he was a mental midget, and was an overrated boxer who KTFO a bunch of cans.

 

I'm honestly not trying to be a smartarse here,but in the prime years,I was well aware that Mike had a fabulous defence.It was just lost on the casual fans.
I remember being laughed at in school discussing Mike,I said everyone's missing that he has a wonderful defence and this ***** said to me;
"He's a boxer,not a centre half"atsch
The best of it was,the others laughed too.:verysad
It could be lonely being a real boxing fan when you're young.:|

 

I love the way he slips and bobs the straight shots, then rolls with the uppercuts.

I've only been watching Boxing for a year know what do you call when he literally bends his upper frame side to side to avoid punches? Its bloody cool man i never see any other HW do that.

It's illegal to duck so your head is below the opponent's belt in boxing. In the first clip, Tyson is practically sitting on the floor. His head is around his opponent's knees. If the referee knew anything about the sport he'd have given Mike a warning.

Well, to be honest, the Rangefinder Jab is the deadliest weapon in the HW arsenal. At least he was able to shake the devastating effect of it and regain his composure.
