Again, research and learn the science. There is a difference in concussive forces in boxing compared to other sports. Though impacts may be on a greater magnitude in a sport like football, the sport of boxing applies more rotational forces on the brain at impact, which has been shown to inflict more acute damage. Materials in sports like football are made to slide off of each other at impact to inhibit these forces. If they didn't in the NFL we would very likely have deaths and more catastrophic injuries with some impacts during game time on the magnitude of 100+ G.

To add, the leagues like the NFL are implementing long term care for their athletes and almost all make substantially more than most up and coming boxers. The infrastructure of boxing is like the wild west and will never provide the safety and care that the athletes deserve until they get all of the snakes and pigs out of the ****.

Of course they are risking their repuation. If was found out they had contracts which could hide postive test results thats corruption, there reputation would be a line. Rememeber they are funded by the governement

I hope its ok to drop a link in here. This is likely the very first thing I wrote on PEDs, Manny/Floyd and all that. There are two mailbag responses that bookend the piece. Some people think it shows I have this Manny bias. I think it shows that unlike most writers at the time and now, I had an open mind on the situation. I also was uneducated in testing, PEDs specifics. My opinion was one of an open mind who wanted more info.

I hadn't read it since I wrote it. There's no date on it. I think the original draft is in one of my old dead laptops. This must have been right around the time the first negotiations ended judging from the content.

I've lived inline for about seven years. Its nothing for me to be here, on twitter, facebook, and multiple forums while reading news from around the world and talking on the phone all at once.

Right now I am also cooking lunch, doing laundry and getting ready to leave for Vegas.

But I've gotten where I am interacting with people. I see no problem spending a few minutes in a forum that has been very good to me. Love breeds love.

    Peace to you.

You are looking at it from a fan's perspective. It would be corruption if they were contracted by the state commissions and withheld the results from them. Abiding by their contract with a specific company is not corruption. Violating the contract is corruption.

Furthermore, their government funding is for the sports that they are the official agency for, and guess what, boxing is not one of them.

Gabe don't even sweat this place homey, most the posters here are just pathetically hateful about everything. All you've done is tell the truth, there is no need to defend yourself. Especially against the assholes in this place. :good

As far as I know the state commissions have no connection with USADA and USADA has no legal duty to report results to them, only their client e.g. Floyd, GBP etc. I think Tygart came out and said that USADA would make results known publicly, but that is on their own accord and likely for transparency.

From what I've read, GBP asked to be notified ahead of time of a failed test. I never heard that they wanted failed tests to be kept secret until after the fight. If I'm wrong, feel free to call me out on it.

that was another issue they had with vada.

go read the gbp lawyer letter.

they referred to it as a "inadvertant use exemption"

not saying there is one with usada. just saying that would be my concern about this whole thing.

i'm not too concerned about the floyd failing 3 times stuff. don't put much stock in that.

Exactly. Gbp doesn't want to lose money. They want to save cards for you the fan.
