There has been a lot of debate about Jeffries recently, and somtimes you can best understand what a fighter meant by erasing them from the timeline.

Lets say that Hank Griffin dosn't beat up one of Jeffries co workers, Jeffries dosn't fight his pro debut to settle the score, and Jeffries dies in obscurity.

How does the heavyweight lineage unfold between Bob Fitzsimmons winning the title and Marvin Hart winning it?

I honestly think that Bob Fitzsimmons would have been capable of beating anybody up to the age of agout 40, but he had clearly lost focus when he met Jeffries, and perhaps loosing the title was the kick up the ass he needed?

    Call it.

I have never rewarded him official recognition as anything but the White Champion.

    Why not?

Do you think that there was an alternative title, theoretical or otherwise?

Also, did he not beat the last official coloured heavyweight champion in Peter Jackson?

No, I make allusions all the time. It was the best of Boards; it was the worst of Boards. There, I can't stop making allusions.

You were a good poster once.

I can accept being in the minority, so why can't you?

And Joe Choynski and Marvin Hart have nothing to say about this?

I see Fitz losing to Corbett in a rematch and them possibly having a 3 bout series. Difficult to tell where the title would progress from there. Would Corbett be defending against Choynski or Sharkey?

My vague recollection (could be wrong) is that Fitzsimmons drew the color line ..... maybe the title goes from Fitzsimmons to Ph. O'Brien to Burns?

I don't care for Hart's chances against Fitzsimmons.
