The worst decision since Casamayor-Santa Cruz I would say.
That actually puts you in the minority even amongst the judges, two of whom managed to get that one right.

In fairness though, it was one of the closer rounds. I had Bradley winning it up until the last 12 or 15 seconds.

Like we all know, styles make fights, Pacquaio as a puncher is better suited to face pressure fighters than the pure boxing median level power of Mayweather is

I won't stand by it, but Pacquaio didn't do much, Bradley threw allot more, maybe not that accurate, but I'm not sure Pac was

Still, though, Cotto is a good fighter overall. Good stamina, durability and skills, but Pac destroyed him. If he can't get credit for that you can't really give a fighter a credit for any win.

Neither he, DLH or Hatton has ever been steamrolled liked that; and Margarito and Clottey haven't copped many beatings of the magnitude they got either. If we're going to fool ourselves this only had to to with their condition and styles and not much with Pac, we can pick apart any fighters achievements at the end of the day.

And yesterday Pac beat, in the majority opinion, a very good fighter despite not looking his best.

I found it difficult to give Bradley more than 4 rounds at best. He just couldn't affect Pacquiao with his punches which more often than not did not land cleanly. He did his best work in the late rounds when Pacquiao took his foot off the gas thinking he had already won. To his credit, Bradley took a great punch and caught his second win in the later stages after seemingly gassing out early. Pacquiao did not land a whole lot of clean leather either but he did seem to land the more telling punches, forcing Bradley to back off and hold on at times.

In my prediction I thought Bradley could make it messy and close, but with Pacquiao getting the benefit of the doubt. I did not think Bradley made it particularly close and I was completely wrong about who would get the decision.

I hope this lits a fire under Pacquiao who comes back even stronger. There's no other positive out of this as boxing has been made a mockery once again with another atrocious decision which makes it increasingly difficult to seriously follow the sport. Pacquiao-Marquez III was awful also but it does not justify yet another bad decision as Marquez gets no benefit out of it.

I never said Cotto wasn't a great win, it was. I said Cotto, Margarito, Hatton are all styles that suit him because of their following characteristics: come forward fighters, defensively poor, left hand focused (bar Margarito perhaps). They do have other talents but the fact is Pacquaio matches up better against them than he does against counter punchers and pure boxers

He didn't really look that good against Clottey, who didn't open up but when he did landed most of what he threw. A good win, but all the 'Pacquaio was a different fighter 3 years ago' talk doesn't ring true when he clearly looked clueless 4 years ago against Marquez. I don't buy the '1 year prime'

Anyway I had Pac winning this and losing to Marquez, so his next 2 are quite possibly Bradley then either a rubber or Marquez 4.

Pacquiao landed more punches. Pacquiao landed the more hurtful looking punches.

You mean Marquez II? Wasn't that in '07?

Anyhow, I just don't think he has looked in top shape either mentality or physically in his last fights. Not a staggering difference, but enough. Have a hard time seeing the Pac of a couple of years back coast through rds like he did yesterday.

Incidentally, the Swedish commentator (a record holder in Swedish titles and, more importantly, one of the trainers at my gym;)) said already in the opening round I think that Pac didn't look to be in top shape.

I had it to a very clear Pac 9-3, this was even more a disgustingly blatant robbery than Marquez III. :-(

I hope Pac takes the November rematch by brutal combination-punching KO.

Kinda reminds a bit of Tyson situation.

I mean Mike still was capable of spectacularly knocking guys like he used to do (Bruno, C.Williams, Tillman) but his decline was evident.

It's just that certain style was needed to expose his limitations caused by his decline.

    True.

Pac performed much better than was expected against good technical prime motivated fighter who was supposed to give him serious trouble (or even win) due to his style.

Although it seemed like Bradley injured his leg which certainly limited his movement which was supposed to give Bradley the edge in this fight.

We're in the clear minority here, though. Surprised me that so many had it that clear for Pac.

Congratulations to Bradley for a fight well done. I have tremendous respect for his honesty after the fight, where he stated "There were a lot of close rounds, I have to go home and review the tapes and see if I really won or not". He also fought hard against a tremendous puncher.

That said, I gave Bradley three rounds on first viewing.

I can't be sure, but it seems to me that Bob Arum stands to gain a lot because of this result. A trilogy looms between the sports biggest star and another in house fighter. Easy money, and none of it goes to DLH or Mayweather, and that petty thing might be important to Arum.

    Smart Move by Bob Arum.

If anything, the promoter is 'one shrewd dude'.

Pacquiao vs Bradley II (November 2012)
Then one more time in May 2013.

Nobody gets hurt, and Manny retires as one 'super' wealthy man.

    And Floyd, gets 'freezed out'.

Arum has already stated that he will make a lot of money with the rematch. He also stated to Marquez that it is just "business". Truthfully he should be behind bars.
