I know you're a big fan, this must be hard to deal with. But the facts are the facts, his chin is awful. Stick to him though, some of my favorite fighters have glass jaws. No? Prove it. And a true glass jaw. Seen his fights with Cotto and Urango along with some clips of his KO's online like Figueroa etc.
So far we've seen "that punch woulda KOed anybody, it was his legs not his Chin, he didn't see it coming, Bailey is the WW reincarnation of George Foreman, stamina issues", and blah blah blah blah blah. Open up you eyes, people. Glass Jaws Exist in Boxing. Jones has what is clearly one of the worst around at the moment. Punch resistance is critical to success in Boxing and we WILL continue to have intelligent discourse on the subject. End of discussion, nuthuggers.
Well, to be fair, it's not like Bailey was a ball of fire going into the 10th. He had a very low workrate, and it's easy to see why he had some stamina at the end of the fight. Jones was getting some nice combos in, but it was few and far between the running. So I don't think Bailey was gassed at all, he just didn't start pushing until that KO was NEEDED. It is amazing that the only 2 solid punches that Bailey landed got KD/KO though.
He didn't throw because he was gassed. And the fact that 2 punches is all it takes really puts Jones' chin into perspective.
I'd also like to point out that I believe Bailey's power is fading with age as he couldn't even KO glass jawed bum Yoryi Estrella back in september.
Well, if he was gassed, it certainly wasn't from throwing that weak ass jab for 9 rounds. It was from following Jones around the ring most of the fight. My thoughts during the fight was that he was told to keep it going until the basketball game ended... He also wasn't gassed for most of the early rounds of the fight, but still fought the same way through round 9. But still, when Bailey had to bring it, he did. I get the impression that he could have ended this in the first 3 rounds easy with some aggression.
His Chin is a disgrace. So much so that rumour has it that he will be co-feature on the cover, along with Lucian Bute, of ESB ChinChecker Productions' upcoming box-office smash "Glass Jaws 5 - Sweeping Up The Shards":deal
Does Kirkland have a definite opponent and fight set up yet? If so, I would recommend holding off on naming a featured fighter for the cover because Jelly Jaw James could very well get embarrassingly splattered depending on who he's put in there with.
dude landed 2 signficant punches in 11 rounds....they both seperated Jones form his senses. Bailey is shot to ****
Exactly. These deniers will come up with any excuse to deny the obvious, which was predicted by several Chincheckers: Mike Jones had a clearly shaky chin, which has now been PROVEN glass.:yep
Mike Jones is another unsuccessful attempt to reincarnate Hearns by boiling MW and SMW down to WW. His legs are so skinny and he is so drained that he was bound to get brutally KOed. His chins is probably bad at any weight though.
Kirkland was scheduled to feature, but as his last brutal KO was already in GJ4, and he has no fight upcoming, producers have instead looked for other options.:deal He ducked Canelo Alvarez and seems content to hang around with a female-male tranny whilst beating up undersized sparring partners. :dead:barf
