It actually started to snowball after the Marquez rematch, with moving up against Diaz. (OMG, historic achievement! GOAT!) Then DLH just blew it up exponentially.

This, I am a long, long, long time boxing fan. I became a fan of pacs very early on and this is pretty much the time I remember when the majority of tards started to come out.

It's like me with the Red Sox.

I grew up with them, was a little wide-eyed chipmunk-cheeked kid during the Rocket's prime, cheered for overachievers like Wade Boggs and later Jon Valentin, had Mo Vaughn's rookie card, loved Nomar...

But when "Red Sox Nation" grew, starting with that first championship to end the drought... :-( **** that. **** those people. And **** this new team and the whole identity since they screwed Nomar over. **** the ownership. **** Curt Schilling with a bloody sock. I checked out and haven't looked back.

I guess you could call me a foul-weather fan.

The obnoxious growing fan base drove me away in spite of (or, you could say, as an indirect result of) my team's success. I'm sure many old-school diehard Pacquiao fans have to feel equally bitter towards this new breed of *******s giving them a bad name, and it must have ruined your ability to enjoy his successes.

This experience was indeed cathartic. I have also watched boxing legends made into cannon fodder for newer generations of stars. It's both brutal and sad seeing great men way past their primes being hammered in mismatches to pad some rising star's record.

But you can also look at it as some kind of cycle. Great athletes fall in time to give credibility to the future generations. It perpetuates and drives the sport. Might not be pretty but it somehow ensures the survival of the sport and its ability to capture the imagination of fans present and future alike.

I haven't quite said **** Pac, but I find myself on the opposite side of the tards in 90% of threads on here.

I think my earliest memory of boxing live was Ali v spinks (1 or 2) . . . and I have never, ever seen anything like the hardcore **** before. The have matured a bit lately . . . some of them had taken the criticism to heart and have studied the sport a bit and have more knowledge. Now I find them almost more tolerable than Hardcore K2 fans (who think if you do not think the bros walk on water you are a racist and Joe zaggy fans [bailey] i guess i really do not have to say much more than bailey . . .:lol:)

It will be interesting to see how many Tards leave the forum after this "lose"

Loved watching Ricky.:good Wish he continued but he had to do what he had to do.

Nothing like HBO Championship boxing on a Saturday night, when Ricky Hatton was going to headline the card!

Nah, Tarver's punch has enough drama.
