He got Roy Jones Jr as a new trainer (not sure what to think of it though), likely to sign a contract with Top Rank. Easy to say now but he has always looked more promising that Mike Jones IMO. He's got skills, size, toughness and enough power to become a good champion @147. I hope he will stay busy from July onward bc he's already 28yo.
I think he's the real deal. Wouldn't mind seeing him match up with Randall Bailey this fall, he could show Mike Jones how it's done.
solomon with jones, jones will help him a lot. fine tune the skills that r already there but need to be polished.
He's been out for a little while but Bailey really didn't do anything in his last fight..except delivering the KO of the year so far Don't think Solomon would have much trouble with Bailey to be honest. It's a fake ass belt but that would attract other fighters bc Solomon may have difficulties finding opponents. Josesito Lopez would take the fight though.
If Bob Arum is solid behind Brad, it shouldn't be too difficult to ink some decent opponents. Having Roy Jones as his trainer only makes him that much more marketable. A tune up fight or two and he'd be ready to fight a guy like Bailey. Solomon has excellent natural boxing instincts.
