Always great to hear Gil Clancy......

I don“t know if this is a controversial opinion, but I think Roy Jones is nice to hear, Tarver is good too.....

    Tarver's the best former-fighter-turned-announcer I know of.

Jim Healy. Mr. Baltazar will remember him. He used to do the fights from the Olympic, in LA. He didn't talk much and he said useful things. For instance, when the crowd would react to a punch, he'd tell you if it was really good or not. He never called a fight for the house fighter. And he'd tell you, from his spot at ringside, which fighter was landing good punches, who was hitting harder, and so on.

1)Gil Clancy (with Tim Ryan). The best.
    2) Marv Albert (Ferdie Pacheco wasn't a complete douchebag in the 80's)
    3) Alex Wallau was pretty good
    4) (Colonel) Bob Sheridan

The current HBO team is horrendous. Pac clearly won the fight Saturday, but they are all over him. Cheerleaders really.

Sean O'Grady is a really good guy. At the Chavez/Gamache fight, I moved down to the front row to watch the walkout bout (featuring Jose Luis Castillo) and was talking to O'Grady. Security came up and wanted to see my ticket and Sean told them to leave me alone, that I was with him. Actually, there were about 6 of us, and he tallked boxing and signed autographs.
Rich marotta is also a really good guy and very knowledgeable about boxing. Al Bernstein used to be a favorite of mine until I got sick of his "step left and throw left hooks" advice against southpaws. That made me realize he knows nothing about boxing.
