9/15, at 154, no catchweight. Per Steve Kim twitter.

    I like this fight.

Wonder what's going to happen with Chavez Jr vs Martinez as they were planning on fighting 9/15 too.

    Brilliant fight.

I used to think Ortiz would win, but right now I really see it as 50/50

I always question fights that get signed and sealed when one of the participants has an impending bout. I still want to see this though, and if victor ortiz comes motivated, this has fight of the year written on it.

All three promoters should work together and make this into one PPV card. No chance in that happening, but would be massive.

My guess is that Chavez vs Sergio moves to October since GBP will beat Top Rank to the punch with this announcement.

Arum would be elated privately yet throwing a hissy fit publicly.

This would give him an inherent excuse not make the JCCJ-Martinez fight.

I think Alvarez should be a heavy favorite here. Skill and mentally speaking, Alvarez is superior. Ortiz is the better athlete. But I just dont have much faith in Ortiz over a 12 round fight not mentally folding. Against Berto he had a guy who was inactive and just as timid as he used to be. Against Alvarez he's gonna have a confident guy, who will have the support of the fans behind him. Dont know if Ortiz is going to be handle a fight of this magnitude mentally.

    Cant wait though. :deal

Hope Canelo wins. But this is a great fight to make, it beats the Berto rematch IMO

Canelo looks alot more poised than Ortiz, I think he will KO Ortiz.

Every fight, I sit and find holes in what Alvarez does, then the next time I see him, he's fixed them. He really does come on leaps and bounds in every fight.

Mentally I agree. It'll be intresting to see who is the jabber of the two. I think the size difference is going to be negligable.
Fair play to Oscar for putting two of his bigger stars in the same ring so soon. Shows that he really is putting all his eggs in Canelo's basket.
