Anybody Impressed With Pac's Boxing Skills?

it's like the "pac has no right hand" thing pre-velazquez/pre-morales 2.

pac has a mean right hand before roach.

that weird cross/hook/overhand hybrid right he throws he had before roach.

it's just they didn't see it much. pre-roach pac threw the right like crazy.


pac was too wild and getting caught with punches he doesn't see.

so roach adopted the KISS principle.

1-2 , 1-2 , right jab , left cross.

very simple and with pac's speed and stamina and power , quite effective.

 

How I see it is emmanuel's "boxing" skills come out if he can make his opponent perform like a brawler

If someone is "boxing" him, then he's not very good at "boxing" with them

 

bradley was moving too much.

punch output is dependent on punch opportunity.

it's like shooting in basketball.

the amount of shots you can take depends on the guy guarding you.


a guy who just stands there like clottey , pac will throw a lot. guys who move around pac can't throw.


but yeah he did look gassed last night. not proper training? or age? we'll have to wait to see in the rematch.

pac is not a natural boxer.

he's a natural brawler/slugger.

roach turned him into a boxer puncher.

boxer punchers can always outbox slower or less skilled guys.... but they get eaten up by real boxers usually who are more technical.

i like to compare it to tito.

you a brawler or slow and tito will eat you up.

but a more technical opponent like hopkins? delahoya? tito can't do his usual box-punch with them.

 

His skills at missing shots, plodding along with slow feet, having no ring iq and throwing wild flurries with 30 seconds left in each round while smiling at the HBO commentators was very impressive.

He has no Jab
He has no body punch
He has no uppercut
He has no inside game
Just has fast hands and a good straight left, pretty much nothing more than a head hunter.

what pac needs to learn is to be a swarmer against those who try to box.

not to box them back but roach doesn't make that adjustment. he needs to because pac usually just sticks to roach's gameplan. he makes litttle adjustments himself. what roach works on him to do is what he usually does.

 

he has a good bodypunch and uppercut.

he just doesn't use them enough.

his defense is okay for the kind of guy he is. he ain't no floyd or sweet pea.
