Boxers are the hardest working athletes, yet why don't they get paid like them?

You got Football, NFL, Basketball players earn more than boxers. Why don't boxers get paid more than they do? Only Pacquiao and Mayweather are being paid these big dollars, but what about the smaller name fighters? **** is so ****ing unfair in the world of sports.

But it's only the top level football players that earn that much... for every broke journeyman boxer there's a basketball/ football player who plays for hardly anything... but the crooked promoters is defintely a BIG problem in boxing

Khan is pretty popular and cannot be compared to your average good boxer, its a fair point from the OP unless your near the top of the sport you will be making peanuts for fights and even more peanuts after deductions, and the lack of fights a year dont help either while in other sports you got hundreds of atheletes in NFL, NBA etc on multi millions in a year.

The problem here is other sports in America are Team sports and have a regular fan base turning out to matches and TV coverage and play every week there is alot more money in the pot to share. While Boxing is a lone sport it all depends on your fan base and whether the public warm to the matches your matched in. you don't have that status of a team which has been around for a hundred years.

Other than Pacquiao or Mayweather and the Klitsckos, there is no other fighter even making more than $3million when they fight unless there fighting one of the above. and theres only a few in the bracket of $1-3 million like Khan, Martinez, Margarito, Cotto etc and the Majority are well below a $million.
Mike Jones and Randal bailey just fought for the IBF world title and got $100k each.

Exactly! even though 100K is a lot of money, and probably more than 99% of the population earn on a yearly basis, these guys are literally risking their lives every time they step in the ring. I just feel that they should get paid more than what some of them currently get paid.

randall bailey and mike jones could go to work at Best Buy and make 30 grand for the entire year...... 100 grand puts them in the top 5% (or better) for yearly income

david haye got paid 20 million bucks to do nothing but run from wlad ....thats not the hardest working guy i know for 20 million.... delvin rodriguez and P Wolak nearly killed each other over 10 rounds for about 30 grand each last summer...... its just a fact that most of the highest paid boxers are grossly over paid

Boxing is very top heavy in earnings. Top guys make millions while many others pick up a few thousand per fight. However, for every guy in the MLB making millions, there are dozens of guys in the minor leagues making a few thousand per year, so the same applies.

Yes, the guys in the middle get squeezed, just like in the real world, but it is a path they choose. A boxer might end up rich beyond his dreams, or 30 years old with no job skills or money in the bank.

Boxers don't get paid for their training time, big money fighters' stipends aside. Boxers spend 99% of their time with the sport training, and a rigorous endurance sport like tennis on the other hand is 50-75% training time for the top players. It's fair enough--what sucks is the politics.
