This is def a set up for Mayweather-Canelo with Ortiz being a common opponent

That's what happens when young fighters lose.

This is a phuking disgrace, they keep recycling the same fighters over and over again, what happened with the "mandatory", why not fight another fighter in his prime and in his own division, lets say Lara...

Crazy looking fight. Should be exciting however long Ortiz is standing. However it proves again what a fraud of a SMW champ Canelo is. He routinely avoids the best contenders in his division, and there are plenty of big fights there (Kirkland, Lara, Molina, Cotto). How long is this going to go on?

  10. Wow this is an awesome fight.

With the kind of year we've had though... Put your money on Josecito Lopez!

  11. Because Ortiz has been on PPV and people remember him (and he's like "Thanks Floyd!")

You are trippin, Ortiz is prime right now and so is Canelo. Good fight.

No offense to Lara cause he's a good fighter but in reality he has not accomplished much yet and brings nothing to this fight. His record in the last
couple of years looks very mediocre.

He should focus on building his career without having to ride on Canelo's coattails. A Canelo/Lara fight would be much bigger if Lara gets a couple of
    big wins.

First ortiz was in the spotlight and maidana beat him into submission, then he beat berto because he had a chip on his shoulder and then again he has a mental breakdown against floyd.Ortiz will never be ready for the spotlight, because he isn't mentally strong enough.Ortiz has no defense,i got alvarez by stoppage and it won't last 5 rounds. It's gonna be worse than maidana and floyd, got alvarez by stoppage and it won't last 5 rounds.

Ortiz was fighting at 140 two fights back with Peterson giving him trouble. He has a draw and a loss in his last three fights at 140-147 and is fighting for a SMW title? when the Kirkland's, Molina's, Lara's actually fight top contenders and beat them and can't get a shot. Total joke, boxing is like pro wrestling now, all you need is to manufacture some hype to get a shot
