Media scorecards - why are they all different?

Bump, this is what I was looking for. Tim won rounds all over the board for all of these people scoring the fight, it's not impossible for a few judges to have given him 7 total.

To people stating it's because they were feeling bad for him or trying to give him rounds, what's that based off? You're opinion alone, or do you have some inside information? I find it odd that he was given that many different rounds because they 'felt bad' for him..

 

Like ive been saying. The rds Pac won, he dominated. Some rds were close and can go either way. Bradley didnt dominate the rds he won but did enough to deserve. Rounds 9, 10, 11, 12 were all Bradley. I gave him close rds like 2, 7. Rd.1 was also close.

 

Exactly. Im watching the fight n Manny got dominated rd 1 for 2:30 seconds. Then landed 3 hard lefts in the last 30 seconds. It swayed me to giving him the rd on the live viewing but now i gotta give it to Bradley, he wasnt hurt from the lefts and he landed more effective punches. Mainly left hooks and spinning off Pac n for some reason Lampley says hard body shot landed by Pac when it was Bradley who landed the body shot. Gosh i always dislike their commentary.

Also rd 2:bart is damn near even. Im thinking do i give Pac the rd cause of having 1 hard shot in the beginning and the rest was a bit back n forth or give it to Bradley for a strong finish. Three rds in now and its close. Cant wait to see the last 4 lol

I suggest you also consider the psychological aspects. Biased HBO announcers and the preconceived notions about boxing may have caused so many to see what was clearly a competitive fight as a blowout. After watching the fight live I was surprised TB got the call in close rounds against a big money fighter like Pac but I thought that he had done well all along.

 

Doesn't change the fact that it was a horrible robbery.

 

The point of all this is that if Bradley gets all the competitive rounds its close.

Holy crap; I scored it for Manny, but I recognized it as a close fight... not the blowout everyone is saying it was... To be clear.. I SCORED IT FOR MANNY..

The HBO team was terrible; I think they had more to do with the "public outrage" then anything else. 90% of the people watching it.. don't know **** about boxing.. so they just listen and agree with what the answers say so they don't look like fools. Heard Mentality.

The point I think he was trying to make with all this actually.. is that it was competitive.. not the one sided blow out everyone is trying to make it out to be (which it wasn't).

 

Really it seems like in order to get a clearer idea of this fight, we'd need to start a composite score, round by round, choosing the majority of each round won in favor of that fighter to determine who most think won a particular round and the fight in whole. Rounds that would be debatable from a composite perspective would be ones that would (or could) swing to either fighter.

 

What is consistent and majority agree, by a heavy 95%, is that Pacquaio won pretty convincingly, regardless of which rounds were scored for each fighter.

 

Excellent thread man. These ****ers claim it wasn't even close, but then if you review their scorecards a lot of them have picked 6 different rounds at least that were clear Bradley rounds. That's called a ****ing draw, and that does indeed prove that it was a hard fight to score.
