    Vitali has good head movement, and he fights tall, making the best use of his height. That's why Arreola couldn't hit him. But he can be hit, as Lewis, Solis, Sanders, and even Chisora have shown. But what is more uncanny is his deadly punching accuracy. He keeps his hands out front and moves them in strange angles, hitting only with medium power, but he lands almost every punch when he does this, no matter how much his opponents bob and weave. Floyd Mayweather could envy this accuracy.

    He has an unorthodox style and is great at it. That fighting style made him one of the greatest heavyweights ever (Top20 or Top15 arguably).

    But I don't know if you could call it a defense.

    His head swivels back and forth like a King Cobra. It is slick Defense. Deal with it. Vitali Klitschko has an iron Chin and has never been outboxed in his whole career.

    No I'm sure he was running sweetheart. I saw the fight and anytime Arreola came close,Vitali took off. Plus Vitali was in there making "women gestures" every time he got hit. Defense would be blocking, rolling, ducking, bobbing and weaving etc. Running away and leaning IS NOT DEFENSE. Running would indicate being scared. And no, Sanders was not an ATG power puncher despite what Wladimir Klitschko's chin might think. Old Lewis rocked prime Vitali but Prime Lewis couldn't rock old Holyfield because great fighters like Holyfield are infinitely better than the Klitschko brothers any day of the week. The Klitschko brothers are good guys and they did well for themselves but they aren't so great. On the ATG list they are maybe #50 and #51.

    Arreola sets it straight.Funny stuff at 3:20

    they spend a lot of time on defense. At least 2-3 rounds everyday after sparring just working on avoiding punches with footwork and head movement

    Well if he didn't have arms he wouldn't be a boxer..................

    Yes, Vitali's defense is highly underated by asshats like this guy.

    Vitali has learnt how to use his height very effectively. ATG HW defense???? NOOOOOO

    Can we just remind ourselves of Vitalis CV please????? Then please remember he has only fought 1 true world class HW and left the ring with half of his face missing. After the 4th round a slow past it Lewis, couldn't miss.

    So yes he has a very good defense and is really effective against the level of opposition available to him. ATG HW defense? No chance

    :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

    Arreola lost every second of every round and then quit and cried. He didn't/couldn't land a meaningful punch the whole fight.

    I don't think the argument knocking his defensive abilities based on his size hold a lot of merit. Size is just an attribute. Saying Vitali would have been hit a lot more if he would've been shorter is like saying Tyson would have been hit a lot more if he didn't have such good reflexes.

    It's very different. You have to take his size into account when talking about his overall abilities.

    Reflexes in regards slipping punches is a skill, it's something that's honed and practised over and over and over again until it is perfected and for some it never is.

    There is a difference between size and skills.

    Gene Tunney was the greatest defensive HW of all time. . .

    But Vitali is up there. . His reflexes are DEFINITELY top 5. . . His ring intelligence, and his ability to "read and react" is top 3, or top 5.
