    Yeah, same. . .

He doesn't have a very sturdy frame, but like a lot of tall lanky guys, he can hit hard with those straight shots, and he turns over a picture perfect right hook at times. . sometimes he can telegraph it like he did in the mcewan fight, but hwen he picks and chooses when to throw it, or follows up with it after a straight left, it's brilliant.

he has a great range as you alluded to but his best shot for this fight imo is his sinking left uppercut to the stomach,he places it very very well.
the thing about juniors rehydration is he may well be 180 going in but a lot of that will be bloated stomach weight and that is why i feel the left to the body could be a deciding factor in this fight.

if you look at the tape, the straight left in the 10th set up lees counter right that is the punch i believe that got mcewan out of there. it was a delayed 10 second reaction but you can see mcewan smile later as he knew he was done. the right cross counter apperaed to turn and stiffen craig up after the straight left.

i think if lee can land that straight left 5 or 6 times in the first three rounds while landing the counter right a few times after jr throws his left to the body it can change the fight. if you really think about it, all jr has is the left to the body and im sure that manny is confident that he can successfully avoid or counter that punch.

agreed. but i still think its the counter-right that manny and co. has been working on because the left hook to the body is jr.'s bread and butter.

you take that away and it changes the entire fight.

Both these guys in their primes and usually do better in big fights so I think both will look better than usual. I think Lee is much more focused and dedicated tho Jr has more pressure to win and looks like he may take more punishment. Jr tends to lose focus tho he's going to have trouble with Lee Jr too one dimensional. I think Lee might edge it, but fight will be a draw. Maybe FOTY and folks will clamor for a rematch and forget about Sexy Serg for awhile. No matter what level 2 fighters are in if they are evenly matched it has makings of a great fight, even a classic sometimes. Neither fighter is a pushover, but I dont think they would make particularly great MW champs like Maravilla or GGG would. There is room for improvement and Jr and Lee may become better, but the time to improve is now. They have the size to tango at 168 too, but if they cant even hang with 154, 160lbers how will their future be 168?

Andy Lee looks like a young Teddy Atlas -the Frankenstein.
The bigger the better! more body for Jr. To work.

I will say this, I've been critical over the years of Chavez Jr. But the kid does come to fight. He has gradually stepped up his competition for a while now. This is a good step up.

Let's see how Lee can cope with the pressure that Jr will bring. Because he has the pop to make this very interesting.

I think cafe made a good point though, Lee is a better boxer. I expect Chavez to come forward, put out an impressive work rate but will he be in shape to go a hard 12 rounds?

Chavez hasn't shown he can come in tip top shape for a fight. I know he's looking good physically but I still think 160 is not his proper weight.

    its his only weight.

could you imagine what froch, ward, dirrell or even aa what do to jr. at 168?

they would abuse him and make him look like a little boy.

****, that just might happen saturday night at 160.

i have a lot of fond memories on cuauhtemoc street in monterrey, mexico.

I'll be surprised if chavez dominates lee. I think it will be close, and the fight is in texas so jr will get the nod.

lee looks to be in great shape and is by far the best fighter jr has ever been in a ring with IMO... I think Lee will hurt Jr early before stopping him inside 8 rounds ... there will be very many crying mexicans on saturday night
