well I've been reviewing boxing and the best fighter I can remember since 1990 and I've come up with my conclusions. Lennox Louis - pugilist specialist who could never achieve his goals without a top quality division. Manny - hard worker who could take the title of number one May - no weaknesses and boxes defensively as he does going forward. Joe Calzaghe - I've got respect for Joe, many people don't but he convincingly beat any guy put before him and people seem to ignore Chris Eubank a guy I considered to put on this list the Prince - had it all and threw it all away after 1 loss. Give arguments for or against. B-hop - my favourite boxer but his self promotion got the better of him Terrible - I love the guy but he left his right hand down. Oscar - a true fighter. Miguel - rather controversial. This brings me to RJJ, I know he should have fought at his weight but as far as boxing skill is concerned he was amazing. I guess my argument is a stylistic one over anything else. I think RJJ style is the best I've seen.
Yeah he was one of a kind and possessed a different kind of skill set than we had seen before or since.
Roy Jones had talent but i think Floyd is alot more talented to be honest,Roy was all flash with no substance to back it up once he slowed just a little.Floyd is the total package
The Greatest and most "Athletically" talented fighter....he had skills but Floyd & Hopkins more complete fighters....plus questions...still remain about the overall level of his competition in his prime..
Hopkins, Toney, and Ruiz were his biggest wins, his only elite competition in fact, and he fought like a disgraceful coward in all of those bouts. There was more running, posturing, and potshotting than fighting in all three and on top of that Ruiz is garbage. He is a Glass Jawed Fraud of the highest degree and that resume doesn't even begin to stack up to true ATGs.
Honestly did you even follow his career ..He didn't lose another fight after the Hall fight until he came back down from Heavy..
