Jack Loew. He took a one dimensional, slow, defenseless fighter with no foot work to lineal MW champion of the world. :D

Has Dan Birmingham won trainer of the year with the work he did with Winky in his prime?

I'm amazed Nacho has never won the award. He is easily one of the top trainers in the world.

I was very glad to see Virgil Hunter honored with the award last year.

I'd argue he deserved it over Ward for 2011 with the year he had with Mares, and Marquez.

I can see both sides of that argument. Had Pac/JMM 3 been scored correctly, Nacho probably walks away with the award.

The technical mastery Ward showed over AA and Froch likely just edged Nacho as it was.

(Hunter and Nacho are my two favorite trainers, btw.)

    True. Hunter definitely was deserving.

    Also two of my favorites.
