Why was a smart, prime fighter unable to outbox a down hill Pac?

Bradley is arguable peak, and I think it is safe to say he is a dedicated student of the sweet science and a thinking fighter. Yet he was unable to outbox Pac, who is considered to be a fighter that rides on natural talent and now clearly is on the decline.

Any thoughts on why?

bradley has problems with guys who counter, and bradley did that. this is obvious, but nevertheless, no way in my opinion, did bradley win this fight.

 

wouldnt call him smart or a "boxer". and 147 is not his weight class. people seem to forget that

 

People watch Marquez do it and assume that it's easy. Mosley tried it and was unable to land effective punches on Pac. Bradley tried it and was mainly landing on Pac's gloves, aside from some decent bodyshots. Cotto tried it in the latter rounds and simply prolonged the inevitable. They're able to move away and frustrate Pac with footwork and distance, but they aren't able to combine that with stinging counter punching and offensive bursts.

Marquez is one of the smartest, most skilled boxers in the sport. His ability to back up while landing his own shots (on someone as dangerous as Pac) isn't something that can be replicated by most fighters.

People underrate Pacs boxing skill, yeas he is not as great as PBF . . . but who is? Bradley was never a threat and I think was only built up to seem like a quality op for Pac by Arum. I think Alexander and Paterson that fought in their last fights could beat him and so would Khan and Ortrees . . . but that is pure speculation of course. AT the end of the day Pac is on another level the Tim . . . him being at his peak has nothing to do with it

 

Well the Champ took on a great former champ, he wasn't on the decline, he was a beast, a formiddable monster, pacquiao is the thing nightmares are born of, your underrating the former champ...and by doing so you take shine away from the current Champs legacy...we can't have that....Pacquaio is "not was" a great fighter....he just lost to a potential great fighter in his prime on that night...
Pacquiao is so great that he couldn't KO Champ with 2 F'd up feet and no punching power...he is phenomenal....that fight was so hard for Champ he had to win by any means necessary...

the only person i see who can beat pac at 147 is Floyd. (and maybe Victor Ortiz)
Pac on his worst day is still better than alot of guys at 147 IMHO.

Bradly had a broken foot and still was outboxing Pac at times. 100% healthy Bradley would outbox him in the rematch and win a clear decision IMO. Pac can't deal with educated footwork. Bradley will stick and move behind his jab and Pac will follow Bradley around not cutting off the ring.

He's a pressure fighter that tends to win on accumulation. A bit like Juan Diaz (style wise) a few years ago. Less than average power but never stops coming.

He did fight like a boxer against Manny and was more successful than he should have been. Manny needs to figure out how to cut off the ring

 

He fought like a boxer because he was running for his life. It was a fight the first 3-4 rounds and Bradley found out hard in the 4th and ran afterward. Being chased by your opponent and throwing punches here and there is not fighting like a boxer.

 

Because Timmy does not do roids. Only Memo gets that 8 rd epo direct.
