    Good post.

Yeah? My uncle still has one of the bombs somewhere.

Funny **** actually, I just randomly picked the nickname cause I thought it was a cracking one, being from Clydebank and all. I forgot about the Prizefighter guy Gary McArthur with the same nickname. My name's Gary too, and on here someone send me a message like "Is this Gary?". Was like :admin

Mayweather has a solid chin though, he's not going to fold under pressure. I just meant IMO guys like Hopkins should be ranked above him, even with the knock downs I don't think Bernard has been buzzed by a punch in his life. I don't even mind the chincheckers I just wish they had better criteria of determining chins as opposed to just counting KD's and KO's.

I know you were joking, but had to clarify.

Good enough to negate the chances of him being stopped via getting caught cold. (Ala Jones)

His defence should ensure he doesn't take the sustained beating needed to stop him.

Did he even get punched in the face by Corrales? I think the whole magic of his performance was that he totally avoided any punishment. That's not a testament to his chin, but his defense. I don't remember his jaw being tested by Corrales, but hey, that was in 2001. What I meant by 2001, who exactly has he faced since then that tested his chin? Ok, go further back, who ever tested MW's chin? :?

Judah... Can't say he really tested MW's chin. Ok, he tested it, but it wasn't a very hard test. In some instances, he hurt Mayweather (see vid below at 2 minutes) A good test, sure, I'm don't doubt anyone will claim that Mayweather doesn't have a good chin, he does have a good chin, but we can't really say anything beyond that IMHO. Those who could have really tested his chin were avoided. He got hit and survived Judah, but got hurt/stunned... Is that a good chin? IMHO, a good chin wouldn't have really got hurt...

IMHO, which is little more then a guess, the extent of his jaw's greatness is none: He doesn't have a great jaw. He has an ok/good jaw. He got hit and hurt on some occasions, vs cherry picked opponents, and got hurt. Definitely not a great or GOAT jaw... But he definitely has a decent chin... Even good you could say since he did take and survive some punches... But great? No.. If he really had a great chin, he'd have taken on bigger challenges, his reluctance doing so imho definitely hints that his jaw isn't the greatest, he is scared of getting hurt and KO'd.

I have to say,I suspected you might have been Gary McArthur, but I learned my lesson when I asked a guy with Glasgow dialect called BurnsyBoy if he was Ricky Burns.

He took Shane's and Cotto's quite well and didn't skip a beat. Also to be able to compose himself when he rarely gets hit and battle back smart is what is truely shocking. You figure for someone who hardly gets hit gets hit will prolly not compose very well.

Pacquiao HAS been down several times....

    Infact Pacquiao has been K.O'd

I'm not comparing his chin to Mayweathers just saying......

I dont know if Mayweathers chin can be described as "amazing" but it doesnt need to be his defense is excellent!

The truth is I don't think anyone truely knows how good Mayweathers chin is he could have a Hagler like chin but he understands that the more you take the more likely you are going to end up like Ali.

    Great post.

I could post in Glasgow dialect, but no one wants to see that haha.

Yeah I think you're in with a better shout of Gary Mc posting than Ricky Burns haha

Yeah but specific guys were referenced saying "Mayweather has faught them and not been hurt", but Pac faught the same guys and wasnt either, and his chin isn't amazing so, just mooting a point.

I said about his defence too. Was just wondering peoples opinions on his chin.

when he was a skinny little kid... 'jaw' changes with muscles, conditioning, etc. The fact some guy took some shots in 2000 vs 130 pounds opponents doesn't mean he could take hard shots at 150... Manny's early KO is really irrelevant imho, you want to rate Manny's jaw or balls, check out his fights vs bigger and hard hitting opponents!

Especially when he doesn't fight the fighters that could put him on his ass...

Right, he didn't take the hard fights so we don't know how good a chin he has...

(don't know why I keep saying jaw instead of chin ... lol)

Disagree. Hatton could have hurt him, Ortiz could have hurt him, Cotto could have hurt him, Mosley could have hurt him.

Mayweather's only fear to his record is the guys that can create a style to beat him. He hasnt ducked any big punchers because thats the exact style he has an easy night against.

Looking back at the Judah vs Mayweather fight, Judah showed a good chin. :yep He got hit cleanly and took very well the punches.
