No doubt Pacquiao was robbed, but WHY?

Bradley will never be a cash cow. While his story is nice, his style will not attract casual mainstream. He might do 700K PPV buys consistently at his peak but I don't see him a million PPV buys unless with another big star.

    On topic.... why?

    1. Extend and increase the life of Pac vs Bradley with Pac vs Bradley 2.
    2. With the controversy, built in marketing and media for the next fight
    3. **** block PBF from a Pac vs PBF fight. As long as Arum is alive he will never let PBF make money out of his fighters - win or lose. This is beyond Pac. For Arum this is personal.
    4. If Pacs wins, he can get Pac vs Bradley III. More $$$$$
    5. Extend his Pac leverage for contract extension.

You want me to keep going?

the first thing that comes to mind is that arum didn't want pacquiao vs marquez again in nov. we know marquez gives pac fits. bradley gets this decision and pac is now a sympathetic figure. pac wins the rematch and arum cashes out with mayweather in may. if pac suffers a legit loss to marquez in nov, the mayweather fight is off the table.

This has Arum written all over it ...

Its a win win for him.

Pac lost a lot of popularity after the JMM 3 fight, this will regain the public's sympathy and regain Pac's popularity.

This will also push Bradley's status up. Both fighters with Arum.

Rematch will sell like hot cakes.

Pac won't lose any credibility or luster from this loss as almost everyone thought Pac won.

This won't damage the Pac - FMJ fight (if it ever happens), as Pac will/should demolish Bradley in the rematch.

ARUM is the winner here no doubt. Smart business strategy, but a stain for boxing. Arum needs to exit the boxing industry pronto

Seems to cover the overall consensus here. Someone else said Arum makes even more with a Pac/Bradley III after Pac wins the rematch. Hurts boxing overall, but puts more and more money in Arum's pocket. It will be interesting what the PPV buys will be for the rematch vs the first one. Very likely will be higher since the controversy buys will outweigh the people who say they had enough with all the boxing bull**** and pull out from watching the rematch.

The whole reason they set up a sure rematch with this fixing is to avoid having to deal with mayweather and GBp.

Mayweather fight will never happen. I see Bradley fighting Pac again, then the winner fighting marquez. Then Pac retiring regradless

Several people on this forum think Bradley won. Most numbers of experts is like 60-Pac 10-Bradley. 2 of the judges just happen to be the guys who thought Bradley won.

It's like Pacquiao-JMM I think, although a more extreme version. The rounds that Bradley won weren't clean cut or as obvious as Pacquiao's rounds. There is debate that you could give him 7 rounds, and I think in another thread on here, through people posting their scorecards, he won 10 rounds spread throughout them, which shows that some were very close. Most of those people edged the majority to Pacquiao, but it only takes one judge to edge all of the close rounds the other way to cause the upset here. I think it was a bad decision, but nowhere near the magnitude of corruption.

They've dealt with Mayweather a million times. I'm sure at this point, Pacquiao would want the 40million split, although he'd never got offered it (even though it's fair now). Stop being so biased to think that Pac is avoiding May by arranging this. Of course he wants a rematch. Find me any fighter on the planet who doesnt want to avenge a very close decision loss. He wants to put a stamp on that win. If the door then opens for a retirement match against JMM, and Mayweather's probably offering Pacquiao a signed copy of his picture for the fight, I'm sure Pac and JMM will end their legendary rivalry in style, with JMM most likley getting the win that he deserved and Pacquiao fans able to bow their heads to him as he retires too.

Manny's contract is up this year. If Manny is forced into a multi-fight or multi-year contract extension? You have your answer.

Uncle Bob royally screwed Manny. He destroyed his options and pride on the Mayweather fight. He left him only able to regain his dignity via a match with Bradley. Everything else is high risk low reward.

Manny could man up and face Ortiz, Berto, Bailey, or one of the other top WWs, but we all know he won't do that. Unless you guys know of a Basic Brawler with a title? Pac is now Arums biatch.

Why ???.... to set up the rematch & delay the pac-fmj fight even further.... the fight has already lost its spark but arum wont be content until he has completely killed it off & milked pac dry in the process.... old news, people.

Not sure they can sell the rematch outside of the Philippines.

You guys are a bunch of ***gots. Going to go there.

Why would you, an internet boxing nerd, be able to outsmart a multi millionaire boxing promoter with several world champions on his roster? Just like the gay illuminati stuff, it's completley fake.

Bob Arum isn't an evil genius who is capable of manipulating fights of this magnitude, and if he was, you wouldn't have any suspicion because he'd be able to hide it. What happened was, two judges, like a MASSIVE amount of posters here and quite few experts, thought Bradley won. I don't, and I had Pacquiao winning quite confortabley, but that's not the point. It Pac managed to KO him, but was DQed because he had the wrong hairstyle, then maybe you can say all of this bull****.

@bald head, did you just say Pac should fight Ortiz instead of a basic brawler? Lmao. Also, when has Bradley or Mayweather 'manned up' and faught Berto or Bailey?

Not an evil genius and above getting detected... So explain Bob's being caught up in previous bribing scandals?

So no conspiracy and this had to be all about the EXPERIENCED judges and what they saw? OK. Going along with your premise... Pac just got beat so you should rinse the sand out of your clam.

Hey moron, Ortiz is an actual 147 pounder and legitimately ranked. He is also not a basic Brawler and has a few more tricks up his sleeve. If you don't know that? YDKSAB. All of these guys were around when Pac took the BS JMM fight which blew up in his face. Pac didn't step up. Never does.

Mayweather stepped up and took on "the man who beat the man" Mosley due to Berto being out of the picture from the Earthquake. Pac chose "fresh off of a loss" Clottey and Cotto. Bailey wasn't even at 147. The Bailey situation only came into fruition because of the recent win of the title. Step your Boxing knowledge up. You are all over the place.

Bob has several fighters. If there was legitimate suspicion that he just screwed his fighter, than EVERYONE would leave him. As the only people really worrying about it is internet nerds, his other fighters are safe with their careers.

Pac did just get beat. Was it a robbery? Sure. Was it a conspiracy from the depths of hell? Uhhhhh.

Ortiz is a come forward boxer puncher. Standard.

People rank JMM at #2 on P4P. How was Pacquiao accepting the fight against him BS?

Did you just say that Mayweather STEPPED UP to fight Mosley? Mayweather just faught Cotto, who Pacquiao beat. He also faught a near the end of his career Hatton and Ortiz, who struggled BIG TIME with Berto. Not exactly like he's fighting Martinez or anything. Neither of them really took any big steps up. Stop being biased.

Boxing promoters are a lot like cell phone carriers. They screw people, but what are you gonna do? Go right to them and get your cell phone.

Maybe you don't think so, but think about this? This make no sense for ANYONE involved. Casual fans? No, they want the win of the guy they like. Boxing fans? No. Even worse, this messes up the betting. This makes no sense for the sport. Especially with no upside like most robberies.

A Brawler is not a Boxer Puncher. Ortiz is far more skilled than that. To pretend otherwise is silly.

Because they jobbed JMM twice before and there were numerous quality 147 pounders available INCLUDING the one the world wanted to see, FMJ.

Yes I did. No Mayweather fought Cotto at his preferred weight, with his preferred gloves, while being in a training situation he liked and AFTER avenging his defeat. Now Hatton was was at the end of his career? Hatton was the fight the world wanted to see. The PPV numbers show it. On a competitive front, if what you say is true, why is ANY credit given to Pac? Berto is a CHAMPION at the weight. Why wouldn't Ortiz struggle?

You are making zero sense man. :huh
