Kent Green, at age 29, and out of boxing for '7' years, comes back in Miami, Florida
    with help from Chris Dundee.

Still fighting at the Light-Heavyweight level, 'Slim' Kent Green stops (TKO 1)
'record-padder' 'Slim' Jim Robinson {8-24-0} at 0:51 of the opening round.

Note: 'Slim Jim' is a sparring partner of Muhammad Ali.

The plan by Chris Dundee, to have a Kent Green vs. Muhammad Ali bout in Florida,
if the 'Ali Group' can get a waiver for Muhammad to fight, by the U.S. Government.

5-weeks later, on December 1, 1968 - in Miami, Kent Green scores another quick win
by a (KO 2) over George 'The Moonport Mauler' Holden (4-1-2}.

Kent Green 'over-powers' Holden with an assortment of lefts and rights in Round 2,
and drops him for the count at 1:22 of the round.

'Slim' Kent Green ups his record to 20-1-0 (14 KO's).

There was talk of Ali fighting Kent Green in 1979. Ridiculous. By that time, Ali's career had gone from greatness to circus.

OK i'm really not sure what's going on anymore. Are you tracing the record of some guy who knocked out Ali (and probably was a decent pug) or implying, ridiculously, that had he gotten a second.chance he would've have repeated his victory over Ali.

Kent Green was an 'excellent' amateur Light-Heavyweight out of Chicago.

Made it to the Semi-Finals at the 1957 Golden Gloves, and won the
    1958 Golden Gloves.

He was, in 1957/1958/1959 one of the Top 3 Amateur Light-Heavyweights
    in the USA.

'Slim' Kent Green maintained his 175 lb. weight on his 6' 4" frame throughout his
professional career. He was never, a Heavyweight.

    Amateur

Feel free to fast-forward to the end of the story, where your boy got KTFO by a 7-5 guy in three rounds.

Kent Green never had an interest in fighting Muhammad Ali.

It was the 'Ali Publicity Machine' that created the 'hype' in 1968,
when Muhammad had nowhere to go.

Kent later said, 'That he just went along for the short ride, as he had no
intention of continuing his short comeback in 1968/1969. It was just for
a few 'bucks', nothing more, nothing less.'

Kent added, 'I'm comfortable with my career, and beating Cassius was nothing more
than a good win, at that time in the 1957 Golden Gloves.'

Well. It's nice to learn about a boxer who I otherwise never would have heard of.

Styles make fights. Green would have beaten Cassius Ali a hundred times if they fought; he had the right style for Muhammad Clay.

    :deal:thumbsup:think:yep:rofl:hat:barf

Also interesting to note that Ali fought in a Gold Gloves at 15. Don't you have to be 16 now.

He called you a few names, accused Ali of being an over cautious fraud, and said that he was going to ask the same question you did on page one but, according to frank, in a manner both deeper and more loquacious.

That I could be so lucky.

I wanted to shine your boy Slim's shoes, but tripped over you.

Please continue about how he decided to end his comeback after getting destroyed by a bum.
