My theory on why Bob Arum robbed Pacquiao. What do you think ?

There has been a lot of conspiracy theories behind the results of Timothy Bradley's controversial win over Manny Pacquiao this past Saturday.

Most say Arum had something to do with it while some say it would make no sense for the him, as Pacquiao's promoter, to do such thing.

But if there was foul play, here would be my take on it.

And please know, I'm a fan of both Mayweather and Pacquiao, I have followed both of them since their early days and regardless of what people think about each other, I respect and admire what they have both been able to with their boxing careers as well as life outside of it.

    1. By giving Bradley the victory, Bob Arum forces a rematch with Pacquiao in November and guarantees himself another large paycheck.

    2. The whole world knows that Pacquiao clearly won the fight, his reputations dosen't really take a hit and most people know who the best fighter clearly is. Also how can a promoter who just signef a fighter (bradley) so publicly bash him in the media as he has done Bradley. And Bradley not say a thing about ? I know how "if you knew it was coming before hand and was told to stay quite"

    3. Regardless of what people say, they would tune in for a rematch with Pac and Bradley just to see Pacquiao dominate or knock him out. Arum is aware of that.

    4. By having the rematch in November with Bradley, it cancels out the possibility of a fight with Mayweather who stated before that he would like to have a fight in the fall. Mayweather may request to fight Manny, but Bob Arum will simply say "Why ? We already have rematch set with Bradley, the guy who beat Pacquiao"

    5. Pacquiao then fights Bradley, weather or not he has a more dominating victory than their first fight, Pacquiao get the win and bam, hes back on top.

    6. Now after proving himself, Arum claims pacquiao wants to do it again and beat the guy who many think beat him, Juan Manuel Marquez, and why not. A fight between them is set and place in Mexico, as always the crowds will tune in and as always its a hit a big fight. They're fights always are.

    7. Then finally, after 2 more fights of cashing out on Manny, Bob Arum is finally set to have him face Mayweather and finally cash on maybe the biggest financial fight of all time.

So it does make sense, in a way. Instead of just cashing out on 1 fight against Mayweather, he cashes out on 3 fights instead of 1.

Oh by the way, then he can easily say "Here Marquez and Bradley, you both got beat by Pacquiao, why don't you face each other"

A very greedy move, but from Bob Arum... what can you expect ?

In a state in which prostitution is legal, you think 'Bob Arum' is going to get persecuted for 'maybe' fixing a fight ?

Judging has been especially dodgy of late. Why not just suspect incompetent judges and be done with it? I haven't watched the fight a second time yet, but Manny was doing the AA 'trick' of stealing rounds late. Was he conserving energy? He past it since he isn't a full time fighter any more? He simply misjudge the judges? He certainly wasn't the Pac we're used to.

Arum didn't rob Pacquiao. Those 2 judges just made a terrible mistake. That's it!

    good post

unfortunately, it requires a bit too much thinking for the majority of this forum

only thing I would add is they have no interest in a Mayweather fight whatsoever. If emmanuel fights Timmeh or Juan next, either will beat him. No one will care about Mayweather-emmanuel anymore once roid loses again.

All 3 judges made a mistake. That fight was not 7 rounds to 5 for EITHER fighter.

Although I thought he won, he fought a tactically stupid fight.

There's nothing wrong with trying to steal the round in the final part if it's close, but you're only making judges hate you by doing nothing for the majority of the round then trying to steal it in the later part. It shows a sense of entitlement. We know how boxing is you must TAKE everything you want.

Then he also tried much less in the championship rounds.

He made everyone wait like a diva and also performed like a diva

i don't think the 2 judges are that blind or too brave to be bought and i don't think arum would risk it all for just a lousy rematch.

    something just doesn't seem right.
