Sure, too bad that's not true for amputees though. God hates amputees. No miracles for them. /feelsbatman
We do have free will my friend. I can shoot myself right now alone in my house, and bet nobody stops me. I can run somebody over with my car tomorrow. I will reap the consequences for my actions though (Whether it's death, jail, etc). God loves us so much... He gives us the choice that we can choose him, or to not choose him (and we will be seperated him for eternity the bible says). Some things in life are predetermined, but ultimately we got paths we can take. I wouldn't expect you to beleive me without proving it: Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." If he's working things ALL THINGS for our good... That means some bad stuff is in our lives he needs to change around. Ephesians 2:10 "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." That scripture is saying god prepared good works in advance, but it's saying we were created to do good works... NOT that we have to do good works. Life is a choice...
Or the biological explanation in which his spinal cord may have in fact not been severed in the first place..
Free will is a complex issue and you cannot prove or negate it by throwing around few verses from some book. This is a little better if you're really interested in the topic: [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_will[/ame]
Can't we just be happy that Paul's outlook is better than first reported? No need to go there. No minds will be changed.
I agree free will is a complex issue, but all I need to know is the book I been reading works for me. I go through some issue, the book tells me to pray about it, stand in faith, and in due time my prayer gets answered. Sometimes not the way I thought it'd be, but my book also says lean not to my own understanding.. and then I realize how much better it worked out than what I was asking! Sometimes it works out exactly the way I wanted, but nonetheless theres not a single doubt in my mind that this book isn't from God because it always works. There isn't a single struggle I've ever had that this book hasn't had tons of answers to find.
You beleive that God hates cripples... So, your saying you beleive in God. Yet you have no reasoning as to why you beleive he does. I was just saying the bible doesn't back up that allegation (whether or not you beleive in it is besides the point).
So God is looking out for multi millionaire Paul Williams, but not that poverty stricken, born with AIDs child in that 3rd world country? :think
