What were you replying to with the nothing being an upside thing? What did I say in return? Any form of robbery is bad for the sport. You implied that fighters who arent were brawlers. Cotto, Hatton, Mosley, Ortiz etc. are boxer punchers, who both Mayweather and Pacquiao generally hand pick to make their fights more entertaining. I have commended Pacquiao on fighting Marquez, who everyone knows has his number, and Bradley though. I didn't see them, but doesnt EVERYONE believe that JMM was screwed in the first two aswell? Now people consider JMM to be the second best boxer on the planet today, so you can't exactly hold up to the point that he wasn't a legit opponent. How can you consider Cotto beating Marg to be a legit "defeat avenged", and Pacquiao's fight with Marg not to be legit? I agree Hatton was a great fight, and I think I got caught up in your biased nature lmao. Hatton looks like he was at the end of his career now, but thats only because of how out of shape he gets. Hatton could still be fighting at a decent level now if he stuck with it. At the end of the day, Pacquiao and Mayweather handpick their opponents to their preferred styles. I personally believe May has stuck with it a little bit more, but all he has to do is fight someone like Khan, Berto or Canelo and that'll redeem everything.
arum is a snake oil salesman and i don't believe a word that comes out of his mouth. bradley said this, dunkin said that, AG's office conduct an investigation but oh by the way i'm going to bank on the rematch. not sure why what happened did happen. i've seen (we've all seen) fighters flip their **** and melt down for losing a very tight decision. pac didnt seem to be super bothered and this wasnt very close.
Brother there IS upside. The problem is the ONLY person with upside is Bob Arum. F Manny. F the sport. F the fans. It is horrible. I won't get into the other stuff, because I think we can agree to disagree. I like Hatton and think he had a Tysonish personality. Attack something 110%, but lose interest. I think he will live his life extreme... Training, drinking, eating, etc... When he is hot he is hot. I wish he gave us a little more.
simple arum needs a new cash cow Pacman will soon be done with boxing good way of ducking a floyd match Bradley can be manufactured and sold to the casual fan, unbeaten american, beats pacman, go figure.
No Pac/Bradley rematch, it's going to be Pac/Marquez4 in November. Bob will protect Bradley's 0, his new cash cow.
Arum can only really cash in on Pac for 2-3 more fights. Bradley 2 + 3 (depending on how 2 is), JMM 4, maybe Cotto 2. After this he will let Pac fight FMJ to milk it one last time. Unless Bob holds a personal grudge against FMJ. But Bob has loyalty to no one, only $$$$. But by then, the fight will be a shadow of what it should have been. Hopefully Manny sees the light and leaves Arum
damn, they're both arum fighters? a rematch sure would make his company a lot of money. i'm sure that's just a coincidence. i mean, obviously it was just happenstance or luck that just about the only two persons (including boxing writers and analysts) who felt bradley deserved the win happened to be judging the fight. i'm sure that just happened randomly................ well at least the wbo will now sort this out.....yeah right
What is to be gained by Pacquiao loss....It effectively kills Floyd/GBP making a 100 million dollar payday. Arum was never going to let Floyd or De lahoya make their biggest payday on his watch. Only one way that fight gets made, Pac leaves Arum(see Cotto) This loss removes the need for Pacquiao to leave, Plus if there is no fight it also ends the drug testing issue. Plus you make money on the rematch, or should I say rematches.
WHY? Because there was little money to be made off Bradley in the first fight. Now that he's "officially" the great Pac-Slayer, and plus there is massive controversy, the PPV numbers for the rematch will likely break all records. That's why Pac tried so hard to lose. (he tried, but he was just too much better than Bradley even when coasting, so Uncle Bob had to also rig the judges) Also why Pac (despite what some morons initially reported) did not look at all surprised when the results were announced. Also why Arum & Bradley were hawking the rematch, BEFORE the first fight even happened. (duh) Also why so much late money came in on Bradley. --------- And finally, Pac now has a great excuse to retire after destroying Bradley in the rematch, without ever having to face Floyd. What's not to understand ?
I would like to hope not, however everyone I talked to seems to no doubt want to watch the rematch. Most to watch Pac get his revenge and route for him to KTFO Bradley this time. People who didnt see the first, but heard the controversy are going to want to see the rematch... Damn, Bob is a smart business man. Too bad he is a greedy little ***** who is soley bringing down the sport of boxing as he pockets loads of cash.
I read it was Arum's way of killing the Mayweather fight pressure altogether. Though wouldn't it make more sense to have manny lose against him while making everyone loads richer going out like that instead of a flake like Bradley. Or maybe it was because the judges actually thought Bradley did enough lol
Home cooking. The fight was in the USA and the American got the decision. No way that decision gets made if the fight was in the Philippines.
