rigo and narvarez  one is very small and light puncher. the other is big, athletic, technicly arguably the best boxer in boxing along with war, marquez and mayweather and can KO you with either single body or head shots :hat

the thing is this. I dont believe in "you need years to build a star". I think fans tune in when they know, this particular fighter brings in action.

rigo brings action and top he is just a well rounded boxer who I is fan friendly watching. he very well combines technic with raw power.

like I said, his fights are like sparring sessions, his opponents have 0 chances. in the moment he beats a top guy his name will be more known by fans. he can beat a top guy, also in specatacular fashion and hype will come as soon as he does this. him vs mares would be big and no matter who wins this fight, would be a big build up against donaire.

It will happen but probably in 2013. First Donaire is trying to unify the titles and he's going the logical route. The most profitable and easy way to unify the titles is the best idea to build up for the big fight with Rigondeux.

Rigondeux likes to fight once or twice a year and then claim everyone is ducking him. He still doesn't speak english and he's been in the USA since 2009, that is four years. He keeps changing trainers alienating himself in the industry.

Rigondeux is the worst enemy of Rigondeux. He's a very skilled boxer, perhaps more skilled than Donaire, but he's a horrible businessman and at the P4P level you have to be more than just a skilled boxer. Everyone at the top level is a skilled boxer but also a skilled businessman with a businessplan to make big money fights.

Donaire is trying to make big fights. Rigondeux is not trying to make big fights, he's trying to land one big fight against Donaire without doing any buildup or bringing anything to the table.

Rigondeux has to build himself up. He can start by taking some english classes so he can give post fight interviews. Edison Miranda does a better job promoting himself than Rigondeux, as we all remember the memorable quotes from him and he doesn't speak good english. Trinidad doesn't speak good english but we reemember him because of his style of fighting and his frequency of knocking people out. We don't remember Rigondeux.

Rigondeux, learn english. You've been in the USA for four years.
Fight more often, even if you knock out bums it raises your stock more than if you sit on your ass. And finally, have a plan to hype the fight, release a documentary of your life, talk more about your backround and life in Cuba.

Stars are built. You gotta have the skills, you gotta have a compelling life style, you gotta be able to speak english or have good translators. Rigondeux could become a legit star if he just focused more on the fight hyping business end, which in his case is going to require he knock people out and speak english, give interviews, and tell the story of his life.

Why hasn't Rigondeux given an interview on blogtalkradio? That is another reason why no one knows who he is. Why isn't he on Youtube like James Toney and Nonito Donaire? He doesn't open up enough to the media.

building goes fast. believe me. nobody knew **** about kelly pavlik. suddenly he beat jermain taylor, being a totaly unknown before and suddenly he is that big ppv star. makes a rematch with taylor, has big audiences and fights bernard hopkins etc..

give rigo one chance, one big fight vs somebody like mares or salido and believe me, if he wins in spectacular fashion, than the heat is on!

Pavlik speaks english, has a compelling story and could connect with people. This is something Rigondeux lacks.

He sure took a cheap shot at him on facebook after his last fight. The onus is on Donaire to force this fight, he's the one in control being P4P top 5 and needing to fight the best to justify such a high ranking. He's recently been crying out for big fights too. Has to be made. No excuses.

    Didn't see the undercard...

Did Donaire crash the party or did he let Rigo have his moment?
