    it doesn't matter.

whether it's his fault or not. it is what it is.

people remember fighters for 1. skills 2. best opponents faced 3. record 4. memorable fights

floyd is at top with skills. he's up there with anyone.

record? he's undefeated and won a boatload of titles. he got that.

what he'll lack is the memorable fights and best opponents.

that's what will hurt him atg rankings.

    just how it is.

LOL. Floyd fought and was willing to fight most of the people in his era the HATERS made up all this "ducking " **** since nobody could beat him. But yet again when people look back they are going to see great fight after great fight. They are also going to see Floyd calling all of these guys out. Thats the great thing about having all this footage.

The whole he was never in great fights thing is ridiculous. You cant dock him points for being great thats what people are trying to do

So you say he doesn't have an ATG fighter like Duran on his resume, he can't be an ATG? That's ******ed. Hopkins is a ATG top 35 fighter, how many Haglers or Durans does he have? How many Haglers or Durans does a guy like Monzon have?

Then you say "it doesn't matter" that there wasn't one around for him to fight  :patsch

    when comparing fighters.

"there was no one around ain't gonna cut it."

ask roy jones. one of the greatest talent in our generation.

but because he didn't have the big names....... a loss to tarver and a few more when he was past it...... and he gets shat on.

plus "there was no one around" also hurts your resume. you say "no greats were around" and it makes your undefeated record look somehow less.

    when did i say that?

    you're ******ed.

go back and read my posts.

i called floyd an atg. i said his skills is one of the best ever.

i just said what will hurt him in the rankings and comparisons with other greats.

next time read before you reply. also try to comprehend properly what the guy wrote.

if you can't do that , don't waste my time. talk to someone else.

    he's not above mayweather.

he was for a time but not anymore.

he has the better wins , hopkins and toney.

but floyd has so much more quality wins overall.

and skillswise they're about on par. roy's natural skills was off the charts but floyd had better technical skills. evens out.

You asked "How many Durans or Haglers are on Floyd's resume" compared to other all time greats in Floyds class (top 30-40) So I said that's ****ing dumb because Hopkins is around that level and he doesn't have those all-timers, and he ducked a Jones rematch in 2002.

What am I supposed to say? Or do you just black out and spout nonsense? Or do you admit what you said was faulty?

Floyd will be ranked high when he leaves. Some people have him in their top 30. That is very high in itself. My problem with Floyd is that he never cleaned out one division in his career. You go up 5 weight classes and can't clean out one? That is why I rate Hopkins so high and think he is the best fighter of this era.

Without a doubt he's the best fighter of the last 20 years.

Who's the best fighter Hopkins has ever beat at their natural weight?

  11. Pacquiao looked much better than Floyd did versus and older Cotto. Im a Floyd fan first, but Floyd winning by a wide margin was an injustice, Cotto actually landed punches that hurt Floyds nose, and body. Floyd even said Cotto was his toughest fight, yet they basically gave Floyd a shut out. Pacquiao beat a prime young and undefeated fighter and they scored the fight in favor of the challenger who looked unsure of himself in the ring. Judging in boxing is weird.

and wouldn't hopkins be higher if he had better opposition?

he was champion for a long time and continued to fight at a high level at such an old age.

that's what gets hopkins rated so high.

but what hurts hopkins from being higher is the same thing that would hurt floyd. lack of big name opposition wins.

    this guy.

i'll say it slowly because you're kinda simple i think.

floyd is an atg. floyd has atg skill. what hurts floyd is the lack of mega names on his resume compared to some of the others.

i'm not saying floyd is not an atg. i'm just bringing up what he lacks that can hurt him in the rankings.

    comprende?

ok. try to do your best not to talk to me again. i don't like talking to morons.

Mega names? Like Mosley, Oscar, Cotto, Corrales? :patsch

Floyd and Hopkins ranking of around top 35 and below is pretty damned good in my view. I don't think anyone but the hardcore Floyd fans rank him inside the top 20.
