Amateur boxing would have favored the sloppy work of Manny Pacquiao, this is professional boxing in which we dont just score on landed shots we score on a four criteria scoring system over a 3 minute time period unlike the Amateurs. I am sorry Diamond though we disagree I will not lie to favor Bradley just because, I can honestly see where he won and how he got the win.
ur preaching to the choir. i've said it once...i'll say it a million times....ppl don't know **** about boxing.
Wow... Do you even know what ring generalship IS? I mean the rest of your points were typical bull****, but this one is a classic.
Manny looked tired as all **** in that 7th round, I dont see how he threw as many shots as Compu Box shows especially when you have HBO the entire night admitting that Manny is only fighting in the last 30 seconds of the round how is that possible? Here is some more biased from HBO http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSYt6iF1Ce8&feature=youtu.be
Pacquaio is the one that landed the clean impact punches. Bradley's punches were almost always deflected. He landed very few clean punches. And when he did land, most of the time, they didn't have anything on them. The last thing boxing needs is to be dictated by an amateur scoring system. **** compubox. I could see with my own eyes who won that fight and it wasn't Bradley.
The ability of a boxer to dictate the pace, style and tactics of a bout vis-a-vis his opponent. According to the 1929 Rules of the New York State Athletic Commission, for example, ring generalship comprised "such points as the ability to quickly grasp and take advantage of every opportunity offered, the capacity to cope with all kinds of situations which may arise; to foresee and neutralize an opponents method of attack; to force an opponent to adopt a style of boxing at which he is not particularly skillful." next question my clueless friend.
Bad decisions in CLOSE fights happen, "Bang Bang" made this **** look like Pac was dominating every ****ing second of the fight which is nonsense, also him saying "worst decision in 30 years" give me a ****ing break, Martinez vs. Cintron was far worse than this, but nothing and I mean nothing tops Foreman vs Schultz, now that was ****ing Highway Robbery. Pac edged Bradley but didnt get the decision in a close fight with lots of close rounds is what happened here, NOT Pac shut Bradley out and won every minute of the fight and got robbed.
u are being harsh and unfair to amateur boxing. pac wouldn't have won that round by amateur standards either.
Actually, according to the official rules that I've seen from 2 governing bodies, (very hard to find online) anything that lands above the waste & not behind the head or body, is a score, even if it's blocked. ( ! ) - but the wording is vague. It's almost like they PURPOSELY want to make the definition open to interpretation. (Can you imagine? Gee, I wonder why ....) Of course, when the compubox nerds do Pac, they also seem to score every punch that hits nothing but air. I don't believe THAT is in the rules. ------- While I am IN NO WAY defending judges Moe, Larry & Curly, there does need to be a more specific set of rules on what counts and what doesn't.
True well thats true here in So Cal the judges here like to see shots turned over correctly not big slapping shots as we saw from Manny in this fight.
Bazooka, do you know of any CLEAR & CONCISE rules about this, that we can all read? I've searched many times, and as I said above I have found a list of rules for the WBC and the WBO, but they are vague & seem incomplete. If there is something out there that is clear, complete, and concrete, and is also acknowledged by all the pro governing bodies & commissions, then I sure would like to see it. It also should be posted here, as a sticky if possible.
