If you started boxing today what would you rather have:

    a) Devastating KO power with a questionable whiskers or;

    b) Or a rock solid set of whiskers and the power of Malinaggi up to a 14 year old girl:lol:

your other attributes are very good stamina, above average quickness (foot speed), fast hands.

    discuss and poll to follow

Granite chin. Power is an overrated quality, chin is not. Best fighter in the world is feather fisted.

The only way to find out if I have a good chin is if I'm gettin the **** beat outta me.

I'd rather be beaten the **** outta other people.

No, it's not, and no he's not.

If Wlad had no power, he would be done.

If Pacquaio had no power, he wouldn't be ****.

Power is one the most underrated assets on ESB.

Power is a signficant deterant for your opponent.

Look at how Mike Jones fought an old man that had no stamina, and his only asset was power.

Power is highly underrated, and it's the best way to become a star if you can put it together with other skills.

A guy like Corey Spinks would never be a star, nor would Mike Jones for that matter.

****, what would Martinez be without power?

    What about Gamboa? Or Donaire?

Power alone is probably the single most important asset into making you a star. There are very few Mayweather's, Pep's, Whittakers, but a whole heap of Tyson's, Dempsey's, Louis's, etc...

If you don't have Mayweatheresque type skills, (and Mayweather does have some pop), ain't nobody gonna wanna see you fight, and when a fighter that possess power and speed comes along, he's probably gonna beat your ass around the ring.

Have to agree, having no chin will make you a smarter better boxing. Ko power makes stars, go with the power and work on defense.

Well, what will give if the 2 collide, the iron chin or the KO power?

If I happen to run into the dude who has the other attribute, I want to know what trumps what.

Can take a punch but can't punch, vs crazy power but no chin. I would think they cancel each other out and the better boxer wins. the power with no chin wins, he's worked on his defense and would get hit less. The chin would probably be more willing to bang and take a lot of shots, but not be able to really touch the extra defensive boxer.

You guys who voted for KO power are forgetting that glass jaws exist in boxing.

What if God gave you KO power but then you had to wake up to the cruel reality that He had also given you a glass jaw?

Mandibular fortitude is the most important asset any boxer should have.

Questionable whiskers as in Canelo's chin, or are we talking about a Kirkland in the Ishida fight type of chin?

If the latter, then I'd rather have cotton balls instead of fists and a granite chin. People are forgetting this is a boxing and no matter how good you are, you're bound to be hit at some point, and you won't go anywhere if even journeymen and tomato cans can knock you out with the wind of their punches.
