He's been doing that since his amateur days , it has nothing to do with showboating although it may look like it , it's just his way of " opening " an oponent , remember Rigo is basically a counterpouncher so he kind of reherses a combo in front of his oponent and then surprises him with a different combination , sometimes he uses the same combo he rehearsed instead of a different one , Rigo has a full repertoire of such tricks , all designed to entice his oponents to attack him . Like Kellerman and the HBO commentators said they never seen that before , only Rigo does that ( and probably will be copied in the future like the shoulder roll , etc ) , so he's even an INOVATOR in boxing , he brings things to the game never seen before . How people call him " boring " is beyond me tbh , Guillermo Rigondeaux is one of the most exiting boxers in the game today ( for real boxing fans , lovers of the sweet science ) . Peace .
