Leon, you have to recognize that Timmy's overhand right, while sloppy, wasn't just countered because of its wideness; it never even came out. Because of the angle, Juan was able to get the drop on Manny, and if Manny gets the angle on Floyd, the right hand won't be able to land, neither will the left uppercut, and the jab will leave him vulnerable to that slip + left straight trick Manny loves to do. It's not what punches you use, it's how you get in position to throw them in the first place. The two GIFs in my previous post showed the difference and role reversal when someone like Juan has the drop on him, and when he has the drop on someone and can anticipate the counter to open up his own shot coming forward.

Another thing that Manny constantly does is when he throw a jab to the body, he's easily open get countered by a hook or an uppercut. I think Floyd would take advantage of it. As much as people tries to point out what Floyd does wrong, ect, Manny still has more flaws that Floyd would take advantage of.

I've only seen him throw there to come back with something up top afterwards. Again, if he's got the angle, the right hand can't come out, and he can use his height to duck under the hook or side-step the uppercut. If Manny lunges without paying attention to his feet, then yes, jabbing to the body only sets up Floyd's leverage to come back down hard with a right hand, but if he steps rightward consistently like he did with Bradley, he'll have more success. Remember that as accurate as Floyd is, he doesn't throw a shot unless he knows he can catch a guy.

This isn't rocket science..unfortunately. The fight would have been more competitive a couple years back and I wouldn't feel confident calling a winner. But, it looks like PAC has lost either the fighting spirit or he has simply declined.

Mayweather has this is in the bag.

That had more to do with Floyd adjusted to Cotto's defense than anything else. Cotto's trainer is very familiar with Floyd's style as most Cuban boxers seems to employs that same style. Floyd did landed few late seconds straight rights in spurts, but Cotto did a great job at covering up and made it nearly impossible for Floyd to threw it between the gloves.

I still think Floyd has a much better chance now than before. Bradley did move around constantly, but at the end of the day, Bradley is not Floyd Mayweather in terms of sharpness and ability to get off first. There were countless of opportunities where he could've countered Manny, but he retaliated with wide and short ineffective punches. At this point, I don't see Manny landing anything on Floyd other than the straight left. Floyd has way more punch options that he can set up to use against Manny.

As i said, Floyd is an intelligent boxer and I'm willing to bet that he would figure out the patterns of how Manny set up the straight left hand. There were several occasions where Bradley and Pacquiao stood square up in the center of the ring with little to no movement and Bradley's lazy jab caused Manny to paused and reset his offense.

    Floyd.

As has been my opinion since it was first talked about.

I think perhaps more so now, but both aren't what they were in 2009.
