its common knowledge that you are to be relaxed but to see first hand of the speed increase you get from keeping your arms and shoulders loose is quite an enlightened feeling. i guess mainly i never really understood why anybody would be loose when boxing i think something just clicked in me and i only recently started to fight loose. been boxing for about almost two years and maybe its just experience thats clicking in? anyways the point of this post is that im stoked that my speed increased about 50% after staying loose while boxing. i like the new me.

always make sure you do stretching exercises before you train this will warm up the muscles witch will then help to relax (about 5-10 mins)

after 2 years learning any sport things should be clicking into place most times you train

it feels good to be good :mj

Simply, when Tight, Muscle has a response, so the response has to change. Takes wasted Time and Energy. :D

This is true and also shows that dumbell punching for speed is wrong, because u can't practice being loose while holding them

Same goes for resistance bands, with the continuous tension in the arms throughout the motion, the only difference being that bands create tension in the triceps mainly, but the dumbells in the shoulders
