May I suggest people watch the fight one round at a time and come back for the next 12 days and dissect this fight one round at a time after they have watched a round a couple of times and discuss what they saw? I've suggested this before. Never happens though.:deal
Very interesting thread. I think really what it boils down to is that compubox should be scrapped. Too many people use it as a form of authority or at least proof of what transpired in a fight, and like anything it is subject to human error. The overwhelming majority of people have Pac winning, and that's fine by me. But what irritates me is for example someone like Mario Lopez. I watched the broadcast where he co-commentated, and I have to tell you he was not at all sure who won the fight at the end. He really couldn't split the fighters. If you can listen to his commentary, then please do, because he then later posts on twitter that it was one of the worst decisions in the history of the sport. I've lost my respect for Lopez because of this.
I'm gonna take a lot of heat for defending Williams against Lara but the compubox numbers in that fight were a joke. There is no way Lara was keeping up with Williams in punch output. By no means am I trying to discredit Lara's effective big lefts that he was landing (so take it easy Lara fans) but every time they wound up in close and tight Williams was punching in the clinch, peppering the body etc. Do those punches not count? Do we only score eye catching bombs? Seriously.
lol, Mario Lopez was paid off to commentate like that to justify a Bradley win. Those were not his real opinions when he was commentating the fight. The worst compubox numbers I remember were from the Mayweather-De La Hoya fight. Floyd's numbers were so inflated from blocked or parried punches
?????? He didn't actually say Bradley won. He was unsure as to who won. But why am I responding to such a rubbish post?
A lot of these fools have used compubox for their defense as well aka marquez/pacquiao I and II. The hypocrisy.
compubox can be inaccurate. but there's no compubox conspiracy. that's just ignorant. the guys counting might make mistakes and miss stuff but that's human error. compubox has no agenda , you muppets.
Nope. That is a round I gave clearly to Bradley. One of 3. However, that isn't the round posted here.
Even "Bang Bang" Lampley thought at first Bradley outlanded Pac in that round before the BS compubox came up, 27-9 was as disgraceful as the commentary which IMO created the outrage in the first place.
