Granite chin so I could take beating and be the people's champ.

This is not even a fair comparison because you're talking about "questionable" whiskers as opposed to completely abysmal power. The question isn't nearly as leading if you have Fighter A with a Kirkland-esque Glass Jaw.

Anyway, in either case, the only answer is an Iron Chin. If you have an Iron Chin it does not matter if the opponent hits like a freight train or not.

Chin. Countless people have come and gone through our gym when they find out they can't handle sparring alone. To learn to box, either defensive or pressure minded, means you have to take punishment no matter what. I don't agree with "hit and don't get hit". It's always "hit more than they hit you". Boxing is a fight no matter how you look at it or how pretty you want to make it sound.

Power, then I'm always in with a chance of a win even if I'm behind and outclassed.

Granite chins are great, but I wouldn't say they can win you the fight, but they can keep you in the fight.

If you have power and a Glass Jaw there is not always a chance because you will likely be brutally KOed. If you have an Iron Chin you are always there because it does not matter how hard the opponent hits.

    Correct.

Although the poll results indicate a work-in-progress on here. Only a suggestion, but perhaps the merits of having an Iron Chin should be equally represented in proportion to Glass Jaw exposure. :deal

Contrary to popular belief not everyone has a glass jaw. You won't neccasarilly get brutally KOed if you have good ring skills and a fair defence. Power is the great equalizer, juat having power can make your opponet more cauttious and wary, even just landing moderate shots that hurt can alter the cousre of a fight.

Of course not everyone has a Glass Jaw, the OP said would you rather have power and a Glass Jaw or Feather Fists and an Iron Chin. A Glass Jaw is the biggest detriment a fighter can have in Boxing. Even the best defensive skills in the World cannot prevent a fighter from being hit and, as Mike Jones showed, you are ****ed if your Chin cannot stand at least one solid shot.

If a fighter has an Iron Chin it does not matter if you punch harder than Marciano, you cannot KO him. That is why they are called Iron Chinned Warriors.

Ray Robinson being the GOAT is due in large part to the fact that he was never Knocked Out in 200 professional fights sans a ****ing heat stroke in the corner challenging for the Light Heavyweight title at 157 lbs.

He's also cream of the crop in terms of the other poll option plus speed.

No it's not, you have guys like Hearns and Lewis who didn't have great chins but still became all time greats.

    Hearns KO2 Duran

    Lewis KO5 McCall

    Bute KO4 Andrade

No doubt that I'd choose to have a 'granit chin' instead of 'one punch K.O power' ! :yep

    Since I weigh about 168-170 pounds ( I'd be a smw ), I'd like to have Froch's 'iron chin' and Ward's 'featherfists' , speed and skills !
If u have one punch K.O power and a glass chin , what u would do in front of a guy with , lets say decent power in his hands and good skills ?? if this guy would succeed to tag your china chin , then all your 'one K.O power punch' is useless ! :yep

Even Floyd , who's the best defensive fighter from any era, gets tagged with some hard shots but he has a good chin and good recovering which allows him to bounce back quickly and continue the fight !

I'd take an average chin over crazy power any day. Both type of fighters can learn defense/offense and adjust to their strengths/weaknesses, but to learn, it means sparring. Sparring means taking shots. You will not scare off an average chin partner out of the ring with power alone. Especially one who knows how to box and avoid those power shots.
