Are you referring to Marquez or Pacquiao? " I respect the judges decisions " Pacquiao " I beat Pacquiao 3 times :| " Marquez
I literally can't stand HBO anymore. Showtime is where its at. I just wish Showtime would have more big time fights. Al Bernstein is probably the best commentator in the game, bar none.
Well, I counted 58 punches thrown in total from Pacquiao and quite a few more from Bradley. It's difficult to be sure how many landed exactly when watching on an inferior quality stream but while 27 seems a bit high, it doesn't sound completely out of the question. Bradley threw a lot but seemed to land very little. I'd score the round quite clearly for Pacquiao - compubox or no. And that's the point of the whole thing.
Futhermore, it is wrong to focus only on punches landed when one makes the case for Pacquiao: it is just as important to track which fighter landed more clean, significant shots. That honour clearly goes to the filipino as well. Bradley landed some shots but very little of note. I really don't think the people trying to make a case for Bradley have a leg to stand on (not unlike their hero, tbf).
Keep in mind, Press Row, HBO and Compu Box are all on the same side of the ring, while the judges are on the three other sides of the ring, I believe they did get a better view of shots that did score. there are lots of rounds here in which you see Manny going to the body looks like it may have landed but being his southpaw stance its tuff to see weather it landed or was blocked by Bradleys elbow. So if you can not see if it landed or not how can you possibly count it? The HBO cameras are on that side as well, then you have one camera in each Neutral corner. However most of the fight is shown from the main camera system located on the same side as press row and the HBO staff.
How would you score this round then? Compubox numbers aside, isn't pretty clear that Bradley lands almost nothing on Pacquiao in this round despite throwing a gazillion punches while all the telling blows are delivered by the fists of the filipino (the best one with around 38 seconds left in the round)? It may be that you don't credit compubox, but if you know boxing, your own eyes should tell you that this is a clear round for PAcquiao - and it only gets clearer with repeated viewings.
I scored this round for Tim as did all three judges, I gave rounds 1-3 to Tim the 7th to Tim and 10-12 115-113 Bradley its not that Bradley did anything amazing, its that Pacquiao fought the laziest fight I have ever seen him fight, this is what I saw in the rounds Timmy won. Tim would work from the start of the round on, Manny looked to ride out the first min and a half, Manny would explode with shots alot of wild shots Tim would slip get caught a few times sure. But then Tim would be right back in position to start boxing again and the round would close. The work that Manny did was Not enough in those rounds in my eyes to steal those rounds, the work he put in was simply enough to almost catch up to the work that Bradley put in. So when it comes down to it I scored it for the guy who worked most of the round and fought at their liking. ask yourself this whos pace was this fight fought at? Bradleys or Pacquiaos? Obviously it was fought at Bradleys pace and the style in which he needed to use to win so that right there lets you know who was the ring general
Its a joke that people are even trying to agrue that this was not a robbery, had Pac got the decision the same people would probably be saying Pac hand picked Bradley. Not one person would try saying Bradley won.
Counting a punch as anything that isn't a paw/push, and assuming landing means hitting something that isn't arms, i count the following - Manny - 23 Bradley - 9 Most of Mannys punches don't mean a whole lot, he flurries, but we're counting punches landed, nothing else. Interestingly, i scored the round for Bradley when i watched the fight, now i might think differently
Exactly why we can not even bother with *******s right here, Berto tested positive for steroids and never once was considered for a fight with Pacquiao
things to consider... how many of those writers have painted pac the p4p best in the sport? how many of those writers have been begging for pac/floyd? how many of those writers openly hate floyd? how many of those writers gave bradley a chance to win? how many of those writers have actually scored an official bout amateur or pro? how many of those writers have participated in the sport on any level? how many of those writers have huge egos and tend to write with homotions? how many of those writers don't know **** about boxing? how many of those writers would openly admit to being wrong and retract a statement? someone pointed out...press row is on one side of the ring. anyone who has participated in boxing understands the importance of the view of those scoring fights. there have been studies conducted by the cubans who coach with this in mind. coincidentally...their understanding of how that works has led to more gold medals than any other country in the world. this is science....taking one view and calling it truth is not how this works. gathering all the facts/data...and different points of view is absolutely necessary to understand all of this. again...watching the telecast....listening to the lampley/lederman/compubox...having alcohol in my system...and rabid pac fans in my ear throughout the fight led me to initially score the fight 9-3 pac. watching the fight again without all those distractions i had it even. there were several rounds that could have gone either way. anyone who will say that fight was anything more than 8-4 one way or the other is full of **** and does not know how to score a fight. at best for pac...i can see 8-4. at best for bradley i can see 7-5. a score either way is not a robbery.
