He can talk **** all he wants. Im not offended and he doesnt even know me at all. I laid out my story for him as Im sure he does with nearly everyone else here about his experiences with boxing.
Irish Maca Foley...that's the dude you worked with? Never heard of him, but I'll be sure to ask about him and seeing as you seem to have been in the game for some time now I'm guessing this was pretty decently far back whereas my experience with Wildcard barely started THIS YEAR so Ill what comes up. If its some bull****, I'll also be sure to call you out as well.
Be sure Freddy cant stand him, Why? Look up the reason why Fortune and Roach split, Fortune has his own Gym now and Maca is with him.
I see Shane working with the kids usually in the morning. Eric Browning (black dude typically wearing a beanie...I actually saw him with Paulie not to long ago) does corner stuff now for these big amateur fights. Some armenian dude is working amateur stuff too and is pretty tightly knit with that whole thing. I've heard the name Panda being flung around, but honestly don't know who that is. I see Paul and a slew of mexican guys working with the younger amateur kids. Paul has always told me from the get go that his plan is to get me to train where he wants me to be at and then pass me over to some other dude where I can train "for the serious ****" as he puts it.
macka foley used to be at the wildcard from the beginning...he now works out of ****** fortunes gym. really good dude.
Honestly, I would have a hard time scoring this round for Tim. He gets a check for activity, sure, but he lands almost nothing - his aggression just isn't effective. Bradley may have succeeded in slowing the pace, but he did little else. Like I said, I see Pacquiao landing a lot more than Tim in this round - and all of the telling blows as well (though Bradley did get one good bodyshot in).
The whole PED thing? Pfft. Damn bro...there's a whole new breed and batch of coaches and trainers there that run things now. That **** was awhile ago and if it was THAT bad before, its not that bad now. But I guess Ill find out when the time comes as you said.
anyone that uses compubox to try and justify anything deserves auto ignore. compubox is a couple senior citzens who aren't even on seperate sides of the ring who can't even push buttons as fast as fighters punch.
His name is Eric Brown not Browning he works with Ikeke or did for some time. Panda is Juan Carlos Gomez alot of new trainers there though I am aware of this but again you have been training for a few years and now have been at Wildcard how many fights have you had at Wildcard already? if you have been there more than 3 months with the time you have had in 3 different gyms and still have yet to fight, somethings wrong with that. I was there when Ikeke was rated #1 middleweight when Israel Vazquez was beating Pac down in sparring. When James Toney was beating the hell out of Terry Smith, when nobody knew or gave a **** about Ola Afolabi, when Marcus Harveys shoulder went out in round 1 of his last fight just before his eye went bad. in fact I was there before Shanes eye got that bad I was there when there was still color in that eye. We also had Rosendo Alvarez there that place was a real gym back then today its all Hollywood drama there. Do not think for one moment that the Gym will make you a better fighter its not the gym. in fact you may find yourself sitting on the back burner on idle before you see yourself fighting. if I were you and I was still in the Amateurs honestly I would look for a gym where your going to get that time you say that you were not getting at other gyms in other words who do you think they will focus on, an amateur or a prize fighter who brings in money?
good thread and good vids. i still maintain oscar outlanded trinidad's ass 3 to 1 in their fight :nono
Fair point and judging by what I've read from that article from daprof, it seems like they'd go with the latter which is something I can't blame them for. I'd also like to point out that it seems like ****** has an ego problem. If he felt that way about his situation there with Freddie he should've just gave Freddie his money and simply went his own way. Could Freddie have been more courteous and gave everyone the word on what's going on? Sure. He doesn't need to or require that, but again...Fortune's ego demanded that of him and he didn't get it. Overall though, as long as their off doing their own **** and everything's squashed it is what it is. And I also like to just add that I take what you say with serious note and appreciate your concern or opinion, but I've actually learned quite a bit working there and get a great amount of fight experience there with the various sparring partners available. When I reach a level I feel comfortable with, I may move over to Tiger's gym seeing as how the guy is constantly moving around (which according to you, seems to cater to what I'm looking for). Until then, I'll stick with Paul. I've moved around all the aforementioned gyms in the span of 2 years. Giving each one a couple of months before bailing. I went to a slew of other gyms for as short as two weeks. Saw the training going on and nearly laughed thinking to myself that I could most likely beat the **** out of their best students in a sparring match and just left (specifically Gaucho's gym in Pasadena...****in' joke). All the best gyms are either too far from where I live or a joke. I've been at Wildcard for about 4 months now which to it's credit, in the span of those two years, is the longest I've stayed at any gym with the exeption of the gym on Broadway. I've been in the boxing game since I was 12. Had a hiatus when I was 16 because I wanted to be in a metal band and have a career in that...that went in the shitter and I went back to boxing.
Don't care about the compobox. The fact that those judges scored those Bradley punches landed on the arms of Pac and Pac missing his shots as score for Bradley is just fantastic.
