No doubt she has an agenda - But she's not the first, second, or even 10th to complain about the same thing :S

She just means that nobody recognizes them period. As in nobody knows who the hell the Klitschkos are in America. She's not saying they're not the true heavyweight champs.

 

Dereck Chisora was offered something like £200,000 to fight Wladimir first time round.

According to that article, about $100,000 was held from his purse vs Vitali. No doubt that was a significant proportion.


I can go on with other fighters claiming the same kinda thing...

Tell me, what's a significant proportion? I posted two articles. One regarding the purse for the initial Wlad fight, and one regarding a PROPORTION of a purse being witheld from the Vitali fight.

But for the record:

I recognise Wladimir Klitschko as the Heavyweight Champion of the World.

I respect him as a Boxer, and I respect his skill. I respect his Jab, Hook off the Jab, Footwork, and Speed (compared to his size.) I respect his Charity Work. I rank as a Top 20 ATG Heavyweight of the Post War Era.

I do not respect his two-faced attitude regarding his 'gentlemanly' nature. Or his stifling of the Heavyweight Division by not encouraging the best of the rest out there to fight him, and to fight the likes of Mormeck when you know you have a mandatory with Thompson coming up.

Most importantly, I simply do not respect his nut hugging fans.

Here's an article that say's Chisora was estimated to earn roughly one tenth of the 2.5 Million EURO's Vitali was expected to earn for the fight.

Do the Maths. Oh wait, you can't. Let me do it for you.

That's in Euro's.

Convert it to £, and it's about £200,000.

Guys who are utterly ****/past it and lucky to be getting a payday at all like Shannon Briggs and Albert Sosonowski got 750 grand. Not the mega purses some might expect for heavyweight title fights, but still good money for guys who aren't much good and wouldn't make a fraction of that otherwise. The lowest I know of is Chisora getting 250k, after losing 2 in a row and not bringing any big fanbase to the fight. I bet they'd all like more and periodically you hear people moaning about Klitschko money but nobody else draws at all, and it's boxing, you make what you're worth. Haye got alot of money because he carried an equal part of the anticipation for the fight, rather than it being the usual Klitschko vs X

 

Gotcha, She just comes off as a **** the way she said it. She seems bitter about the ass kicking Vitali gave Adamek.

 

Duva should work on her talking points. She's doing good for the sport by making good matchups among the lighter heavyweights that make for good tv.

There's no need to diss the Klitschkos. Just acknowledge that one of these smaller guys fighting K2 doesn't make for good TV.

One of these NBC fighters should capture a regional title and they can stage fights over that.
