Braddock over Baer :good. If Jones had beaten Lennox instead of Ruiz it'd have been the biggest win ever IMO

and IMO if Pac had beaten Mayweather in 2010 after Floyd beat Mosley, it'd be up there.

For a guy who fought pro bouts at junior MW, and held titles at MW, SMW and LHW to capture a piece of the crown over Ruiz who, on balance, edged ATG Holyfield in a 3-bout series, this was a significant achievement.

But there's no way he would have beaten Lennox.

I agree. Should Turpin over Robinson or Honey over Curry be added to the list in your view?

For top level British ever I dont think I would include either as it is a very elite list you have there. Robinson was on his European tour and clearly over looked a very good Turpin , but he took care of business a few months later . Honey was great it really was, but my top ever British performance has to be Ted Lewis vs Britton . I am a little biased by the way as I have Lewis being Britains greatest ever boxer.

Fack, zivic over Armstrong is good as well.

The thing is I feel like the list is "middle era heavy" with most of my big fights being from the 40s to the 80s. :think

I would put Sal Sanchez over Gomez somewhere withing the top 10 personally. Gomez was an amazing fighter, a top 30 ATG and Sanchez dominated him completely earning one of the most impressive KO victories ever IMAO. Another fight I would include is Pryor-Arguello 1. Another top 30 Atg fighter dominated by Pryor who showed unexpected boxing ability.

Well tbh boxing's participant saturation was at an all time high between 1940-1960 and it helps that anything after that is easier to recall since its closer to today

    but heres some older ones

    Willard over Johnson
    Langford over Gans

I agree it was controversial but I don't see boxing as the honest sport most of you think it is. Since day one I maintain my position that most top notch boxers have used some kind of PED in their careers, Anyway what's you opinion of Sanchez-Gomez??

I think The fight with Sam and Joe was more of a passing of the torch fight as Gans just wasn't up for it as much anymore and not at their best, it's more what Langford did AFTER Gans that was special.

For instance I consider Sam's win over Flowers (who later would beat Greb) to be more significant than over Gans.

Two great fighters at the height of their powers, and one fighter bulldozed the other.

Without that fight, would Sanchez be as highly regarded? I think not. Added!
