marks choice of opponent is making me not want to support his career anymore.

if u want to gain or keep fans, that choice is simply not acceptible imo.

he'd get more of a workout with a punching bag i believe.

    step up or retire!!!!!!!

I admire both greatly & think they are very smart

    Dont endanger yourself too much

Make as much money as you can, let the buyer beware etc

Prolong your time in the "sport" you make more money

well done boys, smart business :good

Admire? I think they are fighting within their limitations to sustain their careers but it doesnt make for a good spectacle or draw card.

'Buyer beware' is exactly the principal most are applying to Mark de Mori's mismatches. Voicing disapproval of them and not spending a cent on them is actively discouraging the practice :good

His poor payday from the other night's farce will assist him getting the message.

good luck to mark if he can make decent money for fridays fight, but i can't figure out how he could make money from that nonsense tbh.

u need fans to buy tickets, pay for the ppv etc.

if u fight guys like marks last opponent, u lose more fans.

if u call that SMART BUSINESS, then u r a DELUSIONAL imo.

Or just host the fights in a country like China where boxing is becoming popular, but they don't know what a good match up is.

    Who gives a ****?

If I'm either of them then I'm only considering me & my well being, if you want to watch me beat up easy opponents then that's your prerogative

Anybody who steps in the ring is a fighter, regardless of their opponents. Could they have more "names" on their resumes? Who knows what happens behind the scenes. Boxing is super political as you know. All I can say in Chauncey's favor is he is "fighting" and staying active rather than waiting for his name to be plucked out of a hat for a big money fight. He's also most likely honing his skills while doing so. And he's also risking his ranking every time he does fight too ... Only takes one good punch to finish a fight. Best of luck to them I say. And Chauncey is a class act. It's not like he's coming out and saying he's amazing while bagging everyone else. He's just a humble guy having a good crack with the skills he has at his disposal.

    Here we go again.

    OK

    Try this for a second

Picture that you are a pro boxer that wants to fight in the USA. After trying to wait for 'name' fights you spent 2.5 years training but not getting in the ring. You finally string 2 fights together (Alexander, Calloway) and want to get one more in before July when you have a break scheduled.

You get offered a fight with Stiverne but again, that falls through. You then have a choice, not fight at all or take another fight with someone who at least will mean something to your promoter in the USA.

You have 21 fights under your belt, so you need to find someone at at least your level of experience or higher for it to make sense after fighting Alexander and Calloway. You also have a limited budget and will essentially be fighting for free.

    What do you do?

We know what Mark did. And after 2.5 years of inactivity his new team has strung 3 fights together for him in 8 months all against guys with winning records and a name in the states along with contacts in that part of the world.
He is also back to being somewhere near getting back into the WBC rankings and also back to being mentioned as an opponent for other WBC titles.

Mark's new team have done as good of a job as what I think is possible in 8 months and I would like to publicly acknowledge their great work. Thank you guys.

The final next step is to get that 'name fight'. Fingers crossed.
