Did you noticed whenever Bradley threw few more straighten jabs, he backed Manny up? I thought Manny did a great job at defended against the straight right, but he was wide open to get hit by the right hand sweep behind the gloves and uppercuts. I can't believe I'm saying this now, but i wouldn't be surprised to see Floyd constantly backing Manny up.

Yep, I saw that. It was surprising how Timmeh managed to make the jab so effective, I always saw him as primarily a swarmer.

The jab served its purpose of maintaining distance and breaking up emmanuel's rhythm thus not allowing him to mount offenses.

Morales also showed us how effective a jab can be against emmanuel in I believe as early as the 1st round. He would rush emmanuel and force him onto the ropes via jab.

Bradley who was shorter than emmanuel in height and arm length used the jab well. It's why I'm picking the jab to be one of the key punches for Floyd if he fights emmanuel. Floyd has 1.5" of height over emmanuel and 3" in an arm length advantage, and he has one of the best jabs in the industry. Great variety on his jab too.

Agree. Floyd definitely has a variety of punches he can use against Manny. On the other hand, Manny only has the straight left and the right hook that he can land in spurts.

I just want to see the fight.

I could see both being highly motivated during training camp.

  7. PAC better defense than 2009. FLOYD legs.declined has to trade more, rest on ropes more
    defense less impenetrable than 2009.
Power is last thing to go.
Pac has better chance 2013 than he did 2009.
Less cautious 2009 Pac would have been more suceptable to floyds counters

Do you really think that Manny would beat Floyd fighting at a slower pace? What would he gain by fighting that way? outboxing Floyd? You guys are delusional.

I'm not a fan of Bradley's jab. He was flicking it and hitting gloves all night. It was effective at keeping Pac at a distance and occupying his attention, but it wasn't actually landing.

A good jab is something that Cotto showed against Floyd.

Mayweather does have a good jab (particularly to the body) but he doesn't use it enough. As for his left uppercut, I think it works better against fighters like Cotto who crouch down in the pocket. Pac doesn't even like doing anything in that range, and prefers to maintain space for mid-range fighting. I think Mayweather's best weapons against Pac would be his typical straight right and left-hook, which are also supposedly the recommended tools against the southpaw.

If Pac missed wildly against Bradley, he would look really bad trying to find Mayweather. His best hope would be to land one big left hand shot.

Give me the Manny that beat DLH and Cotto against the Floyd that scraped by Castillo and I'll still bet on Floyd to win.
Time and date has nothing to do with it.
    Style and ability does.
And I don't hate Manny at all before the crazy crew start.

Do you think the right hand sweep would work on Manny? Manny has good body movement. But at the same time, if Floyd set it up the right way, he might land it effectively.

You don't have to land your jab to make it effective especially against southpaws. Had Timmeh not use his jab he probably would have been KO'd.

Floyd uses his jab when it's the proper occasion. Juan ate a record high number of jabs. Floyd showed us in his last fight that he can successfully implement punches he usually does not use the moment he was ripping left uppers on Cotto(e).

emmanuel does not like do anything in that range which makes him a mark for uppers. Clottey who didn't even come to fight fed him uppercut sandwiches when he was in his high and square guard.

I don't think Floyd will even have to use the right hand sweep on emmanuel. That was an adjustment he figured out during the Cotto(e) fight.

emmanuel isn't very talented at limiting an elite right hand.

Floyd has the undisputed best right in boxing.

  13. Pac offense too good, Cotto muscled Floyd and Pac is stronger.
Most over looked advantage of Mannys is his lower body strength.
He would b stronges boxer and crispest puncher Floyd EVER faced.
I think Pac would give the best effort he has in years.
He would b so motivated. I think he has been conserving and preparing for this fight and if not ad******g his style to be in the game another 4 years.

Even fight and they would.need to fight 3 x to see who is better
