Judah was a decent puncher, yes, but nowhere near what Pacquiao in his prime had. Judah was always far more limited than Pacquiao and I don't think he had the raw power either. Look at what Pacquiao and Judah did to Cotto and then come back and argue that they're comparable. Pacquiao is in a different league altogether.
Cotto(e) commits too damn punch with his power jab. emmanuel by way of his southpaw stance was able to counter with his cross directly down the pipe. It was like throwing a football into an open window.
I see how Diaz helped with that. Steward made Cotto(e) commit less with each individual jab and emphasized doubling and tripling it, also helped with balance. Diaz actually used that but seemed to encourage Cotto(e) to "push" with the jab, getting him into better punching position when it does land.
Pretty sure we all saw Floyd get tagged with a straight left and retreat back to the ropes. He wasnt wobbled but he definitely got stunned. He was also hurt by Demarcus Corley (southpaw).
Hurt was maybe the wrong word. I think it was a legit punch which caused Mayweather to stumble though.
A) Floyd was the smaller man in their fight. B) Corley also had the much larger Cotto on absolute ***** street in their fight. Mayweather getting buzzed by Chop Chop isn't something to hold onto. Corely just TKO'd McCloskey who Khan couldn't even get outta there.
So now I'm supposed to accept that Manny's power took an absolute ****ing cliff dive from 2009 and got to the point where he couldn't: a) Knock down a 38 year old Marquez /2011 b) Knock down a lww with two bad feet /2012 Yet he's supposedly the hardest puncher Mayweather has ever faced?
I'm not holding on to anything I just pointed it out. And it's not coincidental that Floyd has looked more vulnerable against left handers.
Yea, Timmeh had emmanuel bewildered with his lighter jabs and range keeper jabs. From what I seen of Cotto(e) he thinks of the jab as a power punch and always tries to land a heavy one. I haven't ever seen him flick one out to measure someone for the power shot, check an opponent's hand, or just simply stick it out to maintain distance.
Isn't this thread about 09 Pac vs. Floyd? Power isn't the most important thing Pac brings to the table here anyway. It would have been a combination of his speed, endless stamina, chin, will, dynamic offense, and relentlessness that would have given Floyd problems.
