Love both guys but I gotta go with Pernell . . . anyone who saw him fight back in the day would know why . . . not to mention he has a better resume and was not clearly beaten until Tito when he was shot to **** and coked out of his head.
Whitaker, to my mind, is a top ten ATG. Unified at lightweight, won titles in four divisions, first guy to kick Chavez' ass, arguably didn't lose a fight until he was 35 years old when he was beset by alcohol and drug abuse. Floyd is likely to be a top ten ATG in the future but I would need to wait until he's retired before I could compare his stats to Whitaker's. It's going to be a close call though because Mayweather is a genius and one of the best to ever lace them. PERIOD!
Resume and H2H ability the guy is a stylistic nightmare for pretty much anyone including dare I say it...PBF.
Says who? almost everyone agrees that he beat both JCC and Ramirez. His lose to Oscar is questionable as well. He fought Great, great fighters in a great era PBF is the best fighter SINCE Pernell, I consider Pernell top 10-15 ATG, Higher than Bhop who is top 50 and PBF who is top 25-30. However, I usually do not like to rank fighters until after they retire.
I think PBF is vastly underrated but it is not close to Pernell's Nelson R Mayweather Ramirez x2 Haugen Pendelton Brazier Paez Pidena Mcgirt JC Vasquez Rivera x2 And Oscar With a clear lose while a coke head Tito
