why do people say mosley is a lock for the hall of fame and not Winky?

    Mosley's Resume: 3 Weight, Multi-time world champion, Unbeaten as a 33-0 Lightweight

Wins over: Oscar Delahoya (#1 welter, P4P), Antonio Margarito (#1 welter, P4P), Ricardo Mayorga, Fernando Vargas, Wilfredo Rivera, John Molina, Jesse James Leija, Luis Collazo, Phillip Holliday, Golden Johnson

    Wright's Resume: 154 Lb. Champ
Wins over: Shane Mosley, Felix Trinidad, Sam Soliman, Andrew Council, Bronco McKart?

Not to mention Wright turned down a Taylor rematch and a Floyd and Oscar fight. :patsch

It also should be noted that Johnston, P4P lightweight champ wanted nothing to do with a Mosley unification bout, and turned down double his career high payday for the fight.

    Shane Mosley at 154:
    Raul Marquez NC
    De La Hoya UD

    After Winky Losses:
    Fernando Vargas 2x TKO
    Sergio Mora Draw
    Saul Alvarez Loss UD

Oscar De La Hoya at 147:
    Pernell Whitaker UD
    David Kamau KO
    Hector Camacho UD
    Wilfredo Rivera TKO
    Patrick Charpantier TKO
    Julio Cesar Chavez RTD
    Ike Quartey SD
    Oba Carr TKO
    Felix Trinidad MD Loss

    After Mosley:
    Arturo Gatti TKO
    Manny Pacquiao RTD Loss 8

and regarding opponents that both mosley and de la hoya faced, de la hoya destroyed vargas and mayorga well before mosley. you sure about that statement? i'd take mosley's win over de la hoya at 147 before taking winky's wins over mosley at 154 any day. it's a known fact that mosley did nothing really notable at 154 aside from those two vargas wins and the win over de la hoya.

Mosley brings the "star power" element as well. He had some incredible KO's and the action style fans love. This is the Hall of Fame, and Mosley was one of the most famous fighters in the world; Winky never was.

I think Winky gets in, BTW.

Winky is a top 5 ATG at 154 and a lock for the HOF. He's should also be rated higher than Mosley on the top 100 ATG list.

My best guess is because of the way his career ended. Had Winky Wright stayed with his plan to retire after his loss to Bernard Hopkins, then many people would view him as a lock for the Hall of Fame.

His inactivity (and losing both fights he fought) in the last 5 years probably left a bad taste in people's minds.

Both are a lock for the hof. The steroid thing isn't going to matter. The win still stands without an asterisk. (Like it or not) This isn't baseball.

Eh yeah neither of these guys are even remotely close to cracking the top 100 greatest fighters all time.

you do realize boxing didnt begin in the 1960's right ?

Why do you even watch boxing if they're all cheaters? To answer your question, Mosley was considerably better than Winky p4p at his prime weight.

Again I disagree. Mosley wasn't better at his prime weight than Winky was at his. Winky is a top 5 ATG at 154 while Mosley isn't a top 5 ATG at 135 or 147.:deal Winky beats any version of Mosley. Mosley would always struggle with someone like Wright he just has his number and is the better more complete boxer.
