Dan Rafael just "broke" the news as well.

He thinks Salido will defend against Garcia this fall.

 

At a fight that's been renegotiated several times and has now been declared officially dead?

 

It'll sell, and it'll thrill. :deal

 

The crazy thing is we already have a mouth-watering Mexican vs. Mexican match-up in the same division coming up this year...Gonzalez vs. Ponce De Leon on the September GBP PPV.


Imagine winner of Garcia vs. Salido against the winner of that one?

Hell, put loser vs. loser on the undercard! :bbb

 

I'm not unhappy at all with the Salido development if it comes off. In fact, I might like it more than the original Caballero deal.

 

Funny thing is, Caballero was so worried about a long layoff and now he's at square one. It's not like a couple rounds experience beating up some tomato can at home is going to do him much good, and after this fiasco there are few top level guys who will be willing to deal with his team at the negotiating table (which in turn will provide fuel to those who say he's being widely avoided...something which at one time was probably much more true...)
