Kindly give some fights where a young lion was given a chance against older established champ and what you think of the outcome. Let's start... 24 year old Pacquiao vs 29 year old Barrera: HUGE SUCCESS 24 year old Ortiz vs 34 year old Mayweather Jr.: TOTAL FAIL
24 year old Donaire Jr. vs 31 year old Darchinyan: HUGE SUCCESS 28 year old Bradley vs 33 year old Pacquiao: FAIL
24 year old Leon Spinks vs old ass Muhammad Ali Leon Spinks: even calling Spinks a "young lion" is a stretch, but he beat Ali fair and square. Twice, actually. The gifted Ali the second go 'round.
Ali was about 36 years old at that time. IMO it's just a MINOR SUCCESS for Leon since he really didn't become a big star after that.
Morales vs the mouse! I think he was 38 at the time!. Merchant said after the fight "it wasent the death of a great fighter but more of a passing of the torch to another great". HOW RIGHT HE WAS
I really think it's a "FAIL", here's why: - Bradley didn't gain new fans after the fight. He might even losing fans. He's also getting death threats from the fans. - Bradley fought full of determination, hearts and guts but sadly he didn't get enough credits for that. Even for his "win", he wasn't given any credits for his "monumental upset victory". - I haven't read/seen any big, major event celebrating Bradley's victory. - Bradley can't even get the rematch fight with Pacquiao that he's longing for. Many considers that it will be a hard sell. Not sure if Bradley can get another big fight soon. Bradley's performance in that fight is not convincing enough. So it's a "FAIL" to me.
