he used ripped fuel (a fat burner) which was not on the list of banned items at the time. his opponet that night (rich hall) was also on it. it showed up as a steriod like substances in tests and was later banned. now however its useable again - steriods dont gvie you technique and reflexes. - There is no doubt in my mind that Roy is the greatest talent of the past 30 years in the sport. You have to go back to Armstrong, Pep, Robinson and Louis to find his level of flair, skill, speed, drive, hunger, dedication and power. Hopkins achieved greatness, Jones was born great. People can talk a lot about when boxers should hang up the gloves, but knowing when to quit has never been a characteristic of champions.
No, that is the excuse that Glass Jaw Roy gave for his massively elevated test levels of testosterone. We don't have a clue what he was on because the test was not looking for specific agents, just testosterone that was well above what any man could produce naturally. Quit making up excuses for that Glass Jawed Drug Cheat.
The BEST head to head fighter ever. Toyed with two ATGs Hopkins and Toney like he was in there with Vanny Paziena
whoa! dude settle down. they (jones and hall) tested positive for andro. this has been reported a number of times. andro was legal over the counter in 2000 but banned by the ibf at that time. i'm sure this won't change your opinion on the matter but know you could go to the store and by this crap in supplements during that time. jones has been tested plenty of times after this and they've all come back clean. http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=2782402 btw, your avatar screams douche bag. i know you've never stepped in a ring. stay behind your keyboard. it's a lot safer.
No-one's trolling, here are the facts Read more: http://www.boxinginsider.com/headlines/flashback-when-roy-jones-tested-positive/#ixzz1qVN58fxU Here is a credible interview with the only reliable source on the subject, Jacob Hall. There's absolutely no proof that Roy Jones took Ripped Fuel, or tested positive for Andro. That was an excuse provided by Roy's camp as a cover up. Along with the excuse of 'nasal decongestants'. What he did take? We don't know, but Roy had a chance to submit to a follow up test to clear his name. If you've got nothing to hide, why wouldn't you want to clear your name? I'm not convinced that an 'over the counter' product from a sports shop or pharmacy can elevate your testosterone levels to 6 times what is possible for a human male to produce.
Knock out give it a rest already! Hall 's levels were 10 times the legal limit really STFU. up with this it's old !
yes, i've seen this article hundreds of times on these boards. espn as well as other credible boxing websites listed that they tested positive for andro. the reason i know this isn't a big deal is because the boxing media (who hates jones for the most part) didn't jump all over it. the ring magazine had a blurb near the front of their mag when the story hit and then it really wasn't reported at all after that. the only place you see the story come up is on these message boards usually overrun by euro trash. you say you list facts here but in bold i've pointed out opinions. jacob hall even admits that ripped fuel is not illegal to take but was banned by the ibf. the ibf could have acted but didn't. jones (and hall) should have known that those supplements were illegal but to categorize jones as a steroid cheat for his entire career for an over the counter supplement vs richard hall is ridiculous. he had to take many tests over his career and they all came back negative. fighters like mosley, toney and vargus we're trying to cheat and all got busted but none of them take as much **** on these boards as jones.
Read the interview from Jacob Hall, no-one knows what they tested for. If Jacob Hall who conducted the testing doesn't know what they tested for, then how do journalists who write for ESPN know? :nut Ripped fuel was an excuse from Roy's camp. You're right, we don't know how long Roy Jones was cheating for. However, you have to ask yourself, if it was just once, why for Richard Hall? What did Roy see in Richard Hall as a fighter, that intimidated him to the point where he felt the need to increase his testosterone levels to up to 6 times the legal limit? What Roy Jones did before the Richard Hall fight, has a huge cloud of suspicion over it at the very least:hi: 'euro trash'? What a disgusting racist you are :dead:dead:dead
:rofl Take your head out of your arse. Boxing News and Boxing Monthly did address Jones' steroid use disgracefully being swept under the carpet in the u.s. Dunce and Rawling also discussed Jones being caught during the bbc's Johnson-Jones broadcast infront of a shocked and disgusted national tv audience.
