    khan is a house hold name, everyone knows who he is from the olympics, he's
    not as popular as you think, in manchester i know he gets allot of hate.
    manny isn't as known people may remember him for beating hatton, they dont know much else about him

    The general population dont really know about Pacquiao, hes much more a USA phenomenon.

    Amir Khan represented us in the Olympics and his fights were shown on itv during his earlier career.

    So Amir is probably better known here.

    most people dont know who mayweather is, in england its all about premiership football. boxing is a niche sport these days.

    Khan has a higher profile, but to put it politely he tends to polarise opinion. Some of this he brings on himself, but there are also some unsavoury undertones to the anti-Khan sentiment. That said, other high profile Olympians (Harrison, DeGale) have also struggled to gain popularity.

    Pacquiao is far from obscure, and most sports fans will be aware of him from the Hatton fight. However, most casual fans don't know enough about him to form a strong opinion one way or the other.

    Mayweather is more well known at the moment but it's for being a wife beating criminal.The better known sportsman is Khan as he fights men.

    Khan is on TV and in the newspapers and Olympic medal winners really get hyped here whatever the sport, so most people are familiar with him although i wouldn't say he's popular even with Brit fight fans. Pre Hatton and Sky TV, Brits used to know all the big fighters but once it moved to cable TV the sport dissapered from the mind of most Brits. No one knows who Froch is!!! A 3 time belt holder, shame on us!!!:shock:

    We've got alot of Pinoy's in London though, so I'd say Pac get's it over Floyd!!!:lol:

    However when you mention Khan they are instantly reminded of the KO flop to Prescott

    Khan is very well known in the UK.

    After he came home from the olympics he had a deal with ITV

    Khan has his fair share of haters but thats to be expected.

    Manny is really a non entity in the UK......
